IIRC.. these Prado conversions still have issues with the AFS warning light on if OEM factory HIDs were on 10-13 model. Other conversions have dealt with that by re-purposing some of the actuator hardware in the stock AFS HID headlights.

Man this looks phenomenal. So much better looking than the bow tie grille or pre-facelift front end IMO. Can this same conversion be done on 2010-13 models as well?

Thank you! It definitely is the best looking front end ever done for this platform Toyota or Lexus. My truck is a 2011 so I had the smaller grille to start with, but it can be done on any of the ranges (and I’ve got a spare conversion kit for sale in classifieds right now). One of my friends had a premium with the AFS headlights and I believe he’s figured out a way to trick all of that into thinking it’s stock.

Interested to see info on this as many have fought this for years on 10-13 models with AFS HIDs that upgraded to predator grille.

There is a way with old OEM hardware but hopefully just simple resistors or wiring with your friends info.

Any links to how to, "...re-purpose" the actuator hardware? My AFS light has been on ever since I've had the MetalTech front bumper mounted, 5 years ago.

Actually… my post is about gutting existing headlights for LED retrofits.

What codes are you pulling from OBD Link? They are in there if they you have an AFS Light on

Connect to Network E to pull codes

Next time I get down to my rig, I'll try that, thanks Acad! Been sick all week up here.

I went down to NWA for the weekend after building a fresh high clearance bike rack to mount a 1up roof tray. Cool thing about this set up is that it will also fold down with the bike on and allow the door to open all the way. Truck did great taking a long scenic route home through northern Arkansas and southwestern Missouri. I also had the first confused/curious people as to what kind of Toyota this was and how I got a Prado stateside haha

Finally picked up my new to me '23 GX 460. Low mileage and has been taken very good care of. Bought it from a really nice guy in SoCal, flew down there one way with my wife to take possession. We then took two days and drove it back to Oregon from SoCal. I will post all the details in the coming days.
Already added a couple personal touches.

Nice "teaser" picture of the bike rack as you're pulling away from the camera!
But what you show, looks really good!
Can it modified to stick out far enough in the hitch for a bumper with tire carrier and jerrires (read: full MetalTech rear bumper)?

Haha that wasn’t my intention, but it is still in the ideation phase. I’ve got a couple big changes and things that will make it better and add on the provision for more trays, but didn’t have time to go that route. As of now, I can set the depth at 3 different spots so I’m confident it could be made to clear swing outs on bumpers. Things do get a little interesting though as you fold something down that sticks up further and without some other considerations, could bottom out on the ground before getting out of the way for the door/swing outs to open.

Looks amazing. It’s been raining so they closed it so I’ll have to wait until next year to see it.

And Imogene. We are out here in the wife’s new 392 Rubicon and wanted to run those trails. Oh well, have done them many times, will get them next time. Good to see a few of the new Land Cruisers out here.

Love your GX by the way.

Thanks. Yeah it sucks about Imogene. We were planning on running it when we left Telluride yesterday. Oh well just another excuse to come back next year. I didn’t see any 250s but saw a few other 460s and 470s. I had a lady in a sxs that was asking me “you’re gonna try to take that Lexus on that trail?” :)

I think Imogene is open on the Ouray side but you have to turn back after the summit.
