I think i want to try to do all the classic hard trails in colorado without lockers. Give myself a few years and focus on other mods, and getting the 4Runner built. I want to make sure I can get as much as I can without them before adding them.
Lockers and a regear are an easy mod and huge benefit, just expensive. You can DIY the front and the rear in about a 1-2 days with assembled ECGS 3rd members. Haven't needed to use my Harrop elockers yet, but a 4.56 regear is hands down the best mod I've done to my rig. I also did the 8.2 swap, isn't needed for a GX460 as you already have an 8.2.

I did the 2nd or 3rd hardest trail in the state with just ATRAC and being aired down to 12 psi with my 34s, I even had to use my single use sliders so much the drivers side was rubbing the rear tire and I had to pry it forward.

My previous truck was twin locked I just really want to see how far it can go before the ATRAC runs out.

Also, I have ED+ EBC brake pads and that seemed to really supercharge ATRAC. My pads are noisy AF but they work so well i dont care. I think the front are finally starting to quiet down

The benefit is more the re-gearing. Lockers are secondary and a "while you are in there" thing. Mine have not been turned on yet. Regearing drastically improves the acceleration, drivability, engine braking, and crawl ratio. With 34s, you are probably pretty far under-geared. The rig would be a different animal with 4.56s in it.

I probably wont regear until I upgrade the rear axle.

Wheeler Lake, first time really rock crawling or creating a difficult challenge for spotters.

It was really good and the team work was really awesome, amongst all the folks on the trail. Only haters were some young hikers on the way out. Everyone else was cool AF.

Also, I was one of two people that didnt have to winch at all that day. Just me and the diesel JLU-R. We both had no problems, traction wise.

OnyX offroad gives the Wheeler Lake trail (along with 47 others) a 7 on its technical rating scale. While they rate 34 other Colorado trails an 8 or above.
Awwww, your just killing a really good story! How big was the fish you caught?

Not to mention how many of those trails are even accessible or are in the same condition as last reported.

onX ratings are also pretty subjective. There is one user in my area who is rating a bunch of county-maintained gravel roads as 4s and 5s. People who live on the roads drive sedans down them! Even in CO I've seen some trails that were pretty under-rated, and others that were probably over-rated.

FWIW, I've found onX to be pretty useful when wheeling in areas I don't know well. It's great for CO for sure. When in WY recently, it seems that there aren't very many users. I found a dandy of a 1-mile trail that wasn't mapped at all. Around here, I know the area super well and don't really use or need onX.

Changes every year, and its been wet in central and northern.

The specific roads I'm mentioned are county-maintained and graded 2-3X a year by the county (since folks live on them). I also drive down them pretty often :). We're pretty short on legit wheeling roads more than a couple miles long around here, outside of USFS roads and a few of the more remote counties that let some of their roads get pretty bad.

Some of the best wheeling trails in the Ozarks are on powerline cuts. One of my favorite trails was easily wheelable in my 2000 Subaru Forester in the teens, and is now washed out so bad that I about got my GX stuck in it (pre-lift). That trail is also not on onX, and I'm not going to add it as to keep it a secret :).
 
Yep, I hear that. I maintain my own trail map and only share it with close friends.

Some folks get weird and will rate something hard if they arent able to complete it when its just because they have a poorly built vehicle that can't flex.

I had OnX microSD chips with lifetime updates for Mn. and Wi. starting ~15 years ago. And then they discontinued it and forced everyone to go to the annual subscription download plan. It came out as OnX Hunt originally, OnX Offroad is an offshoot of OnX Hunt, same roads and trails. OnX Offroad has only been around 5 or 6 years. And OnX Hunt outsells Offroad by a LARGE margin.

Last year at the Midwest SxS shoot at Horse and Hunt an OnX rep from Montana was there. He runs hounds for cougars and has an 8 hole dog box on his truck. SxS shooters of course normally run bird dogs but dog people that hunt dogs generally get along together pretty well.

I won a year subscription to OnX for my shooting and in my gratitude I gave him hell for OnX dropping the microSD chip updates that I paid lifetime support for. We had a good talk and I asked him the difference between OnX Hunt and Offroad. Said what I expected those that hunt are secretive and usually don't share information. I will neither confirm nor deny that he also said something along the lines of those with Offroad like to brag who has the biggest dick on the internet. I'm thinking that now I know what he was talking about.

OnX isn't the best mapping software I have ever used. Many roads let alone trails aren't on it even though they are listed on USFS and State\County maps.

I'd call that a road not even a trail. Granted not a lot of traffic the red was curious as to what I was. And it is not on OnX as many others aren't.

Road and trail conditions can and do change overnight. Beaver dams, ice storms, and rain are just a few reasons. I'll be finding out in 2 months just how much. USFS posted several road closures last week in Superior due to localized heavy rains. I won't cross a barricade or signage closed on NFS roads. But the County and State roads and trails will likely be interesting they are almost never signed closed. Here, hold my beer and watch this ;)
