Thanks everyone for confirming, I must be thinking of cabin filters which always come plastic wrapped

A safe vendor for sure :). I got a ton of stuff from them with free shipping around Memorial Day.

This used to be what the OEM filter looks like but looks like they now sell without that pre-filter layer

Since when? I replaced mine around 6 months ago IIRC and I have that pre-filter layer.
There's 2 different SKUs, one has the pre-filter foam layer and the other doesn't

I crushed my left suspension member bracket. They are only 75$ on ebay.
My catalytic converter bumps it every so often.

Im not worried so much about the suspension as I am the transmission. The boat, trailer, fuel, and gear, myself and the fuel load in the truck puts me right at the rated tow capacity of 6500 lbs with surge brakes on the trailer. Only hauling this about 9 miles max, but did make a 123 mile trip to bring it home.
Just so you know, your rated tow capacity of 6500 lbs is with both sway control and weight distribution incorporated.

A reasonable person might add that suspension and transmission concerns are irrelevant, while not being balanced to safely steer or brake with a load may be. I do not claim to be a reasonable person, so I am just passing on what I've heard.

Also, the tongue on the trailer is very long, without some sort of spreader bar, there would be no way to install what you're describing.

I shopped around before I chose my WDH. Specifically because it is used with different tow vehicles and trailers of all types. I've moved my own boats, campers, car and utility trailers (rentals sometimes) of varying weights and designs. This one does all of that.

Below is an image showing an example of the way it is installed in your application.

The configuration in the lower right is what they recommend for boat trailers typically. I've had great luck with them.

Nice looking GX by the way.

@rav8 good information. Those add ons would be beneficial. That section of the manual is written by corporate attorneys, the tow rating itself is from the Engineers. The truck pulled the Yamaha fine, and the surge brakes worked great. Most of the trip was in a deluge and other than the transmission temps, I had zero concerns.

Thats how mine looks. The top cover is a bit askew on mine as well.
