Sorry just saw the second part. Maybe? Probably. I don't know - I only researched my 7.5s.
Same, I run 7.5s since I wheel regularly.

Is anyone running Fox 2.5s? I've had my PES for about a year and the front end is too high. Fox says adjust only off the truck. The collar is a pinch bolt instead of set screw and I’ve read horror stories of damaged collars and shock bodied since both are aluminum from people adjusting on the truck and loosening the pinch bolt too much. I gave it a try yesterday, loosened the pinch bolt 1/4 turn at a time. Wouldn’t budge the collar. Am I just being too cautious? And yes, suspension is at full droop. My driver is sitting at 24 5/8” fender to center of wheel.

I have adjusted my Fox DSC's multiple times on the truck. I have an 11" long 5/16" punch that I ground down to fit the collar. I loosen the set screw and lube the threads with Triflow or WD-40.

The new design is a pinch bolt instead of a set screw, though. I have the Fox spanner (garbage especially for remote res coils) and the 5/16” punch. I broke the pinch bolt loose, but the collar wouldn’t budge. I started researching and found the concerns with this collar design cross-threading during adjustment. I’m concerned with loosening the pinch bolt too much based on what I’ve read.

Today I discovered that my Dewalt 20v jigsaw with the Dewalt "fast-clean" blade type for wood is significantly better at cutting our bumper plastic than anything else I've used; fast, controllable, super clean cuts with little to no melting so you can shave and shape pretty precisely.
This would have been good to know 4 years ago when I started chopping off all the plastic but alas...

I am horrible. I use electrician snips. Nobody but a gear head or car appraiser will notice.

They were one of my primary work tools for 8 years so I am pretty good with a sharp pair.

I received my E-Bay (shipped by Amazon) red taillights today. See this post and next one (can only upload 5 pics per post).

Impressions:

Fast shipping. Well packed.

They seem substantially similar to the OEM ones. I am sure they are a knock off, but they seem decent. The markings are mostly the same; with the exception that the OEM has "Stanley" marked on the back with a part number and the aftermarket ones show the same part number but the area where "Stanley" would be is scratched out. All other markings are consistent.

They installed with no issues and snapped in with authority; the connectors were crisp and not spongy or imprecise. The plastic seemed of decent quality and wasn't brittle.

They function 100%. There is some minor degradation of the tail and brake light which I assume is caused by the red cover having an ever so slight dimming effect on the LEDs versus the clear cover on the OEMs.

All in all for $260 shipped I'm pleased. I see prices actually dropped a bit since I bought them and they are now around $245 for the pair, if purchased individually. If you buy them as a pair they are about $80 more. I will update this post if there are issues so the next guy searching for this can be aware. No issues; no update!

Pics are below.

Aftermarket. Only obvious flaw I see is the bottom of the lens where it tucks under and isn't visible once installed is a little rough in this one spot.

Still holding up OK with no leaks?

Gave the GX its after winter Spring bath yesterday and once again the OEM taillights kept jumping out at me. After a year and a half it is getting worse, I don't mind the chrome trim, especially the brushed chrome, but those damn huge honking chrome taillights....

Bell Lexus even with the sale right now are $800+ for the red sport taillights. Amazon and Rockauto knockoffs are ~$400. Thanks to your tip on looking for them individually on ebay what are likely the same as Amazon and Rockauto are $100 each shipped. At that price if one goes bad it is still cheaper to get a replacement for it, but not if it keeps happening. It is really tempting to do this the way you did if you don't have any regrets.

Oh I forgot to update. I ended up removing them. I loved the look but I got a little inside my own head about their brightness and durability. I kept looking at reflective street signs behind me as I would hit the brakes, and several times (I'm embarrassed to admit) I set my phone up on video and recorded myself getting on the brakes in the driveway so as to look at the intensity of the lights.

They were perfectly visible but they aren't as bright as the clear OEMs and ultimately I decided to use the clear ones in the interests of safety.

I still have them, if you are interested in them you can have them for shipping cost. Probably cost a small fortune to ship though. I'm sure it's cheaper to buy them new with free shipping.

Thank you very much for the honest review and update! As well as the very generous offer.

Week and a half ago I had the pleasure of driving through the storms in NW Wi. that spawned several tornadoes. Could hardly see the end of the hood and at one point came up on a set of taillights a lot faster than I thought possible. No shoulders on the road and no place to pull over and I was going slow, or thought I was. Add in fog from 10,000 lakes and blizzards I want bright taillights! No need to be embarrassed you did your due diligence and I thank you for that. Turns out that is a common complainant on all the after market ones as well as leaks and water or dust intrusion. I'm going to pass and going OEM.

Digging around found GX Bob video on the Black Line Sports taillights. Although he is hawking the finest Chinesum ones and even mentions Bell Lexus who he says he really likes selling them for $400 each. But they aren't the same lights... Might be OK if you live in Southern California but in the North like you and I not so much.

He did bring up a good point about the Black Line that he felt the red sport ones were too much. And the Black Line fit in better overall with the look of the vehicle especially with the updated headlights, etc.

And then realized that with mine even more so. Even had the top plate on the Expo One sliders powder coated and used black oxide bolts to keep a black and white look.

Not looking to do a blackout on it, but black on white yes. Black Line taillights it is, OEM. I think they will be perfect for my rig even better than red.

Did some searching and found a thread on CL about the Black Line taillights and part numbers. Last month someone said they ordered a set from Treasure Coast Lexus in Fl. and they were cheaper than Bell Lexus. So checked them out and searching by part number it threw a server side error and in the search string was the URL for parts at Bell Lexus. Apparently they hit Bell site first then come in just a little bit lower in price. I refreshed and got the prices.

The couple of people that said they bought them never updated about wiring harness and combability. And fitment pre Black Line edition. Searching all over didn't show a lot about them either. Last post was:

Part #: 8156160C60 - LENS & BODY, REAR COMBINATION LAMP, LEFT - $255.81
Part #: 8155160C60 - LENS & BODY, REAR COMBINATION LAMP, RIGHT - $263.56
> Total: $519.37 (with no tax for out of state purchase + free shipping!)

Was on the road for 5.5 hours today to shoot sporting clays for 4 hours in Central Wi. The course was setup spicy with difficult presentations and a work out mentally and physically. On the way home it hit me once again how out of all the trucks and rigs that I have owned for more than 50 years the 460 is head and shoulders above the rest. I did not have any road fatigue even after shooting for 4 hours and driving that far. I plan on keeping it for quite awhile, I'm only at 52K and at 90K-100K will do a full water side replacement. I will be looking at it for a long time to come yet.

So I might as well like I look at....

$13 cheaper than Bell Lexus. $800-$1K for some reason is a bridge too far for me. But $500 I considered worth it. I will update once installed.

Reminds me of that old Regular Car Reviews line, which I'm definitely mis-quoting slightly... "I tint / blacked out my taillights so they work less"

Smart move going with safety over looks, usually people go the other way

Been a loooong time since I was here. I had some radical life changes last year so I don't use my GX much lately. Thinking of moving it on.

What's the secondhand GX market like these days? Mine's a 2010 with 48k miles, Bilstein 6112, SoCal since new, all service records etc.

Sorry to hear.

Market is so-so. That's SUPER low mileage for a 2010, 48k isn't a typo?

48,000 miles? Is that a typo? That's insanely low.

Yep, 48k.

I bought it a few years ago from an elderley dude in Newport Beach. It's been a great truck.

It seems like list prices are alllll over the map for 460s. No idea what they actually sell for these days though. Mine's a bit unusual with the low miles so I have no idea where to price it.

The service history and current mechanical condition are what's going to matter more than miles for a 15 year old vehicle. If it was a southern no rust state vehicle all it's life that'll add more value than low miles. I'd buy if off of you if I had the extra cash. 😆

Anything in the range of $15,000-18000 for the aforementioned criteria seems fair.

Private sale has to be like $18-20k assuming its in good condition cosmetically and mechanically. Condition and service history usually matter more than miles on older cars but 48k is really low mileage. If you were comparing a 2010 with 130,000 vs a 2010 with 150,000 miles, then mileage alone doesn't really matter but less than 50k is different.

Is it in good condition? Honestly with that mileage I'd be offering it up on Bring a Trailer or Cars & Bids.

Hope everything as worked out and the craziness has settled. Sorry to see you leave the forum.
Seeing that it has such low miles, that's about 3,200 miles/year! AND that it's a So. Cal car, e.g.: no rust. you should get top dollar.
A couple of questions you'll for sure be asked:
  1. Do you have all maintenance and receipts for it?
  2. Is it a luxury or standard model?
I'm assuming the paint and interior are still pristine.
For price, for a general idea if I'm planning on trading it in through a dealer, I'll Kelly Blue Book: https://www.kbb.com/car-values/
If you're looking to sell it your self, I like CarGurus: https://www.cargurus.com/ I like that it grades the price as being too high, low, etc. compared to all the other listings.
Good luck!
