@Cold Iron
I’m still primarily using an ‘08 Husky and a ‘89 Yamaha YS624TE

A Clarence impeller kit on the Husky makes it throw as far the ‘08 Husky.

Damn so jealous of that Yamaha track drive, well done that is a class act right there! Friend of mine picked up a new Honda 24" track drive last year for only $3.5K. Part of me wanted to go in that direction but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

No cheap plastic parts on yours 👍 Main reason I replaced the Troy Bilt was the plastic gears stripped out on the chute adjustment and I had tied a long 1x1 to it to move it around. Got old quick and one of my criteria when searching for a new one was no plastic. And as little made in China on it as possible. Back when I got my Troy Bilt I didn't know they had started making them in China and the engine crankshaft wasn't balanced, it never did run smooth. Drove me bat chit crazy every time I ran it.

Come to find out even the Ariens engines are made in China now at least the parts for them then they are assembled in the US. It purrs compared to the old one. If the Ariens lasts me 22 years as well that will put me into my 90's and if I am still alive then pretty sure I will not be blowing snow so it should be my last one.

I bet that Yamaha will last you forever, it is a work of art. You have obviously taken good care of it.

Everything is solid on it... electric start even works. I do plan to keep it forever. I always get people asking me if I want to sell it. IIRC... Yamaha stopped selling them in US market around '90-'92 timeframe..but continued selling them in Canada

I think i can count myself as an official Colorado Resident. Knocked my passenger front tire off the bead on the Switzerland Trail and had to change a tire, in snow, on a shelf road up in the mountains.

Took about 30 minutes. My recovery boards were sufficient shovels. My oem jack worked, I used the transmission crossmember. Ground was frozen, so no issues there. Limped it home with my spare that's an MTR in a very similar size. No issues or weird pulling from the spare.

I posted vids here. Will be going to Discount in the morning. Hopefully the tire is fine. 🤞

what pressure were you running?

what pressure were you running?
18 PSI. I previously ran 20 and wanted a bit more comfort. I thought I had replaced all the valve caps securely, after airing down, but it's was missing.

now you have an excuse to get new rims with a knurled bead...or bead locks...bead locks for safety.
Surprised more folks that want extreme low pressure air down's don't use these type of bladder beadlocks: https://www.coyoteents.com/beadlocks/
Yeah, they're not as sexy as traditional beadlocks, but you also don't have to torque 50 bolt's per wheel and deal with stones and debris being caught in the beadlock ring. Plus, true beadlocks are not DOT legal, these bladder beadlocks are DOT legal.

Those are on my long term plans when it's a dedicated rig. Part of why I run steel wheels. So they can be drilled for the second valve stem.

I killed the tire. Ken Block would be proud. 😂

They ordered me a new one. Will be ordering another one as a spare before going back up on trails with it. This is the first time I really wanted to be able to have 2 spares.

Now, for all the wheeling I do, it's kind of amazing this hasn't happened already.

I also think that tire may have had a slow leak that allowed the sidewall to get pinched and ripped on the bead of the wheel.

No way of knowing for sure.

Just making my sacrifices to the trail gods.

Does this site or any other do a GX/LX/LC/4R/etc. yearly calendar? My old Audi forums would have a calendar contest every year where people submitted photos and the 12 selections were always professional level photos. I would get one every year for the home and the office. Would be nice to have one for this realm now.

Not that I have seen. I probably wouldn't bother submitting a photo, though, as my rig is pretty vanilla.

sometimes it is just a really nice picture with a car that isn't heavily modified. given all of the off-roading many of you do, I'm sure you're able to capture some wonderful nature scenes

I find it disappointing that ET lug nuts are only available in chrome or black when I can get normal aftermarket lugs in an array of silly and annoying colors.
ET lug nuts are possibly my least favorite thing about Toyotas. Couldn't stand them on my GX and can't stand them on our Highlander. Unfortunately I'm stuck dealing with them for every 5K tire rotation on the Highlander for at least another decade as it's isn't getting aftermarket wheels like I put on my GX.

I find them much harder to get started (by hand, with a wrench, or with an impact). I'm sure there is some reason that Toyota uses them but I can't figure it out.

Even though I am a photographer I still forget. Its why my build is poorly documented. When I am driving or wrenching I can be a bit single minded.

I suck at multitasking... 😂

In Estes Park until Saturday with the T4R. Going to get that snow tires fixed on Saturday. Probably won't wheel with them again until I have a 5th nokian.

You just spoke my truth.
I don't like to lose focus on my project to take a bunch of photos, video, make a script, etc. Hence I often forget, or leave my phone upstairs and don't feel like going up to get it just for some photos of what I've done.
Most of the photos when we're on the trail or road is from my wife. As a passenger she can focus on all that.

Hi all I have a 2014 gx460. Original owner. I have the bug for a new ride but feel some mods will tie me over. So I purchased lil B,s front bumper. A badlands winch some s2 pods and xl 80’s lights for the bumper. I am sure when I get the bumper on I will got to 33’s. I will send out picks. My bumper shipped today to the powder coat company near me. My lift is a few years old and was Bilstein. The set above 5150 but forget model number. I like the method and scs rims for next step. Any advice as I start to destroy my stock truck? Looking forward to the build but also nervous
