Question for the hive...

I'm in the last stages of installing White Knuckle Off-Road rock sliders on my 460. Passenger side slider went on easily. Driver side, not so much.

Here's the problem: At the front-most mounting point for the driver side slider, the hard lines are contacting the big u-bolt that goes around the frame to hold the slider on and in place. WKOR supplies a nut/bolt to insert in the bottom of the metal bracket that (from the factory) bolts the hard lines to the frame. Despite using the supplied nut/bolt, and even trying additional spacers and longer screws, I can't get it so that the hard lines and u-bolt aren't contacting one another. The hole where the provided screw goes only pushes the bottom of the two hard lines away from the frame/u-bolt and the top of the two lines stays effectively in place. Here's some pictures (taken from underneath, looking up):

Anyone have thoughts on how to deal with this? So close to this install being done, just this one piece of the puzzle left and it's smooth sailing.

What does White Knuckle Off-Road have to say about it?
I'm sure you can't be the first person to have this issue.

Waiting to hear back. They’ve been extremely helpful thus far but being that I’m up against a deadline (need to drive the truck on Friday), figured asking the group here couldn’t hurt.

When I installed my sliders, I used a little pry bar to gently pull the hardlines away from the frame so I could move the slider bracket under them and get the bolt in. It looks like the White Knuckle design with the u-bolt may be thicker than my bracket. Hopefully White Knuckle can confirm you can bend the hard lines enough to clear without rubbing, or you could just wrap or stick some rubber between the lines and bracket to prevent any long term rubbing issues that might happen.

One thing I have noticed is the stream of dirty water never stops when washing the rear door of the gx. I try to spray on the panel gap up top to get as much dust and dirt our as possible. I average at least 50 miles of gravel and dirt a week.

I think we've all noticed that. My truck is currently pretty clean, but the rear door is still a mess. I've also noticed streaks forming in the clear coat under the door handles where dirt runs down the side. My poor truck isn't quite as pretty as she once was, but the memories are worth the scars.

I do old school self washes at least once a month to hit the kdss mechanism, and get all the dirt out, I have also noticed what you are talking about with the door handles ND also the belt trim on the doors.

The area around the rear window is the worst. I wiped it a few weeks ago after a wash and it was just like a 1/8" thick layer of mud

Just washed my rig yesterday, no issues with dirt from the rear door, but the clear coat vinyl patches on the door handles and door edges is getting black on the edge of the adhesive making it look like a thin black pencil line on white.

Friday night conundrum: I replaced my broken tie rod ends with new 555 units. That was super easy. While doing that, I found something has done a number on the inner lip of my driver's side wheel. I just spent like 2 hours in waning daylight jacking/drooping/turning the wheel and scouring suspension and brake components for evidence of rubbing and have found nothing.
Did I just find a really unfortunate rock on a trail? I have plenty of clearance on everything attached to the car from what I can tell.

Also I've now broken every ball joint in the front end (stock UCA, stock LCA, tie rods) except my recalled Ironman ball joints. Small victories, I guess.

Leaf blower and some ear protection especially nice on black cars

I use a foam cannon (cheap Sunjoe) let that sit for a few minutes then spray off and repeat but second time I hand wipe with gloves followed by another spray off then leaf blower time ❤️

Update: Something in the fender is rubbing on the wheel only at relatively static ride height and at the absolute full lock turning right - like bouncing against the limits of the hydraulic steering system. I think I need to borrow a GoPro to stick in the fender because this only happens at absolute full lock while moving, like pulling into a tight parking spot.

Bought the garage alpha grille with a Toyota Name plate as well as a V8 garnish. Got 4 marker lights, too.

I usually don't like the G-A grilles, but their facelifted GX grille actually looks pretty darn good (and much better than the OEM grille).

I think the oem one set the bar low as well.

Thinking this question might belong here. Thinking of getting another GX. only mods to be done might be slight lift, wheels, tires.
The 1000 dollar question is the difference in road noise between a gx 470 and gx 460. Are they both pretty much the same or woulod be a better highway ride vs the other. I prefer a boaty ride as opposed to a stiffer ride.

Never been in a 470, my 460 feels nice and boaty with the Revos. I added sound deadening to mine and it's quite nice now still need to hit the first and second row, probably along with other mods.

With a quiet tire the 460 can be made to be very quiet.
