I am taking my GX470 for an oil change on Monday. It is a hair under 70,000 miles so the drivetrain warranty is about to expire.
Should I ask mechanic to run any particular checks? Anything to look for myself? I got differentials fluids replaced at 65K (when I got the car). Mechanic suggest brake fluid flush - I refused. Should I do it as long as the car is in the shop? Never done it in any car. Am I being stupid?

They recommended a brake fluid flush every 30K. It certaintly won't hurt to do it. Keeps the brakes lines clean and piston seals in the caliper from going bad and dirty brake fluid can over time if not changed affect braking specially in the heat.

O yea and check for a leaky radiator. They tend to leak in the corners.

If you didn't buy it new, I'd swap out all the fluids with new so you have a baseline. This means transfer case, power steering, brake fluid (I do it once a year), and the transmission (less important at your mileage, but I would do it anyways).

Then check the calipers if they're stuck or not (mine were) as well as any water pump leaks (mine was seeping at 89K). If you do all this, then you can coast to the 90K service as your biggest maintenance bill.

If I ever decide to sell my GX, someone is getting a unicorn.

x2 on header leaks. I would also check the t-case for the wet spot near the actuator.
