Im Tim and IM the VP of the TLCA club in Southern Nevada
we are one of the oldest TLCA clubs outside of CA
anyway I will be up in grand lake area of RMNP staying at the gateway inn the week of the 23rd and would like to take some time to do some wheeling and meet some of the other TLCA members out there.
Im driving my lifted (3" IVD coil overs on 32s w/ rear locker sliders skids ARB winch bla bla bla) 08 tacoma trd off road so not too tough on the trail recommendations if you please though 6 of 10 is fine.
Ive been checking out trail damage.com and have mapped some trails just west of grand lake in the park out there but wouldnt mind info about other trais in the general area (of RMNP)
wouldnt mind getting together for beverages or chat with any other cruiser heads while Im up there.
you can PM me if you want or post here and we cna exchange cell #'s

Hi Tim! We currently have no real fun trails open along the northern most front range due to what the Forestry Service notes as too damaged due to the flooding last September. I believe there is a pretty good one to the west of RMNP near Kremmling. The Sidewinder is a very difficult rated trail that I have not been on, but looks like fun. It is a few hours to get there from Fort Collins. Pole Hill, south of Estes Park is another that just opened that has a few easy fun spots. On Colorado4x4.org there is a thread that may give you more details on what is open also. I will be working for most of the week next week, so I will not be able to join you, but someone may post up and have some time...

Looks like a good trail I found it on traildamage and checked it out on the MVUM . the hint on the entrance is well appreciated. This is one area that I do want to drive around some in Ironsides etc. . the rest seems to be over there by grand Lake . still water Pass

Below is a pic of my 91 LC. It's pretty much stock with the standard 3FE. My goal is to add a modest lift and move to 33" tires in the near future. I added a custom roof rack & front bumper since this photo was taken.
Recently my starter acted up and one of your members Ryan, who I happened to meet at a Sonics in Ft. Collins tried to assist me in getting the truck running. That's how I came to hear about the club. I intend to hook up at a meeting or trail run and get better acquainted with you guys.

After 5+ hrs of playing with it on and off, it finally started and I drove it home. The starter is suspect, so I need it repaired before I make any runs with it. Ryan said he may be willing to look at it with me, but I don't have his contact info. I gave him mine. PM me if you know how to contact him. Thanks. It looks like I missed a fun run yesterday.

Look in the 80 series section about replacing solenoid contacts, I think it is a common problem.

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I will be moving to the Ft. Collins area with my wife and new baby this December. I just purchased my first LC ( 77 FJ40) and was pleased to find a group of LC lovers in the Northern Colorado area. I would love to meet the group at one of your outings. I will keep checking the forum and swing by one of the get togethers as soon as I can.

I'm currently in Indiana. Looking forward to Colorado and all it has to offer. I'll be keeping tabs on the club meetings/ get togethers and see if I can make it to some. Looking forward to learning from the forum.
Well boys I'm here. We arrived in Colorado on the 17Dec, drove through the big storm through Nebraska, had a good holiday etc. My 40 is currently at Nelson's Auto getting the carb adjusted. Wade had to order new jets and it should be off the dyno and ready to go in a day or so. Unfortunately I have to go out of town for a couple months but will be back at the end of March. I've been driving my 05 Tundra looking for houses and hitting up some of the county roads having a blast. We have some family property up in Livermore off of 80c and I couldn't make it up the mountain yesterday in the Tundra with AT's (had to walk to the top to do some varmint hunting) so it looks like I'm going to have to break down and get some chains.
I'm currently running 285/75R16's Yoko Geolanders on my Truck. I'm debating on getting something skinnier for the winter here and having an extra set of wheels. Cool thing about my truck is I can switch wheels on my 40 so anything I get is generally interchangeable. I was curious what you guys run for winter tires? I really wanted some 255/85/R16 or a 255/80/R17….problem is the only tire I can find is a BFG T/A KM2 and I read they stink in the snow…. I have to climb a hill to get to our property and it's steep and slick. I guess chains are my best bet but I'm starting not to like the Geo's in the snow…I think skinnier is the ticket.
Anyway sorry about the rant. Just wanted to say I'm here and looking forward to meeting you guys.

Good to hear you are here, er.... Sipes are best for a lot of the winter driving where the snow blows off the road and leaves black ice, so your Geolanders should be good with those and chains, which I actually have some for that size tire(285/75-16) if you need some cheap. I cannot use them on my 35's on the 40. They are the zinc coated ones with twisted links, cam locks and the bungees.
Are you on Facebook? We have the Horsetooth 4-wheelers group on there where we get much more traffic and can plan the runs much easier, since a lot of people use it, even non members. If not, I can still post them all in here. (I have missed a few since we have been doing a run almost every weekend and you will notice nothing was posted in here :S )
