It's probably mostly bandage. A friend of mine who deer and hog hunts with dogs (mostly beagle mixes) docks their tails himself and just brushes the tails with used oil or diesel says that they bleed like hell when he does it.

That is stupid, your friend is an idiot. Docking a tail like that makes no sense whatsoever.
If you are going to hog hunt with Beagles, which are bay dogs, you don't need to dock their tails, as they won't go anywhere near the hog. Now, if you're going to use a catch dog, like a Corso, then you're going to want to dock the tail. That is, unless you want the hog to dock it for you.
I said they were beagle mixes. He just likes them because they are aggressive and small. The docking is just as much so he doesn't have to pull burrs out of their tails as for the hogs.
He's definitely an idiot. I'd say he's more of an acquaintance than a friend.

Took her in for a check up on the surgeries and whatnots today. She had pulled one dew claw stitch out, her spay incision looked great, but the tail was a little bit longer than I wanted and one ear looks a bit tweaked. She seems sluggish this afternoon, but I think she's just tired from running around today. No new pics because I dunked my iPhone and killed it.

Screw that dog. She started chewing up a bunch of stuff and barking at night a lot, so I found her a new home, which coincidentally, is the exact same home she had before I found her. She should be grateful, though - I got rid of her worms, ears, tail, dew claws, and uterus for her, and let her gain about five pounds in the process.
I think the next surgery would have been a lobotomy.

I stole that couch, a similar loveseat, and a leather recliner this past weekend at a yard sale.
