SM is alive and well, [STRIKE]thank[/STRIKE] screw* you very much.

She's clearly a Redbone White-toed All American, duh! ;)

And as others have said, thanks for giving her a chance. It's great that she chose yr family to be her own.

My last foster is thriving in her new home, and it's so nice to see a 'street dog' learn how to be a good doggie citizen.

*really, lame attempt at humor about sexual abuse of an animal? hope it never happens to someone you care about....

You're an idiot. How can you possibly compare a joke about dog fxxxing to the sexual assault of a person, much less somebody's loved one? You need a serious dose of perspective, s*** for brains.

The meek and mild act of hers is wearing off, or I guess she has gotten comfortable. She now raises hell any time somebody walks in front of the house or goes by in a golf cart. I can't go (real) swimming in the pool because she freaks out and bonzai jumps on top of me. I hope she's not getting too protective.

On the positive side, I can at least fuss at her now without her slinking away. On the negative side, she doesn't seem to care too much when I fuss at her. I saw my male dog almost play with her yesterday, but the female still ignores her.

blah blah blah..

I'll take "completely overreacting" for $1000 Alex...

I'm gonna drop her off at the vet this weekend and get her fixed. Is she too old to get her dew claws removed while's she's under anesthesia? My male lab had his removed before I got him, and it sure is nice for them not to have them.

EDIT: Google is your friend. Apparently, it's a pretty common practice to have them removed while getting spayed. Two, birds, one stone, and all of that.

so I guess she's staying?

Until I pay for the vet bill. Soon thereafter, someone will claim her, she'll run off, or get hit by a car.

The last stray I picked up was a male dog - he survived the trial period, then I got him neutered. I think it was about two days later, my old Rottweiler decided the new kid had to go, so he kicked his ass. One more trip to the vet to get him patched up, and then I found him a new home with a family in Florida. So, I paid for a fixin', a patching, and heartworm and flea medication for a dog that stayed with me a total of a little over two weeks.

I've done the same thing for that little tailless orange tabby kitten that my wife and kids found covered in blue paint in a parking lot. It now resides at a friend of ours, post vet bills getting her spayed and de-wormed and de-fleaed, of course.

I'm thinking about getting this one's ears and tail docked while I'm getting the other stuff done.

its a little late for docking, but I agree it would look dope as hell. you might have to shop around a bit for a vet that will do it, I have a cousin that does it himself on his dobies he said the secret is keeping everything sterile. he alos said he slips his dogs a little wisky ahead of time, but I think he was joking.

cool that you rescued the mutt, I picked up a stray pit/shep mix that's now one hell of a coon dog.

I would dock the ears. It will be much easier to pressure wash all of the wax and s*** out.

The tail on my dobe is a little long, but it does make for a nice handle.

Rocker was pretty old when you cropped his ears, wasn't he? How about the tail?

I think he was just about two years old. I mean, he whined and pawed at them a lot, but I think it was more itching than anything.

solution...

I thought about docking the tail on my Chinese Pug 'cause it looks so fxxxing dope, but then I was like "How is he gonna pull me on my skateboard?" I tried having him pull me with the leash, but the choker-spike chain thingy kept cutting his neck, so now I tie a thin wire-cable noose to his tail. The other end of the cable makes a pretty good whip to get him cookin'. You'd be fxxxin' impressed at how fast that fxxxer can get us both going. I've ran over his back legs a couple of times which I'm sure smarted, but whatevs. He's getting pretty old now (11) and isn't as fast, so I might have him put down and pick up a pitbull or one of those sick fighting dogs like Joe Rogan from UFC has.

I took Sammie the Bull to the vet today to get shots and to see if the vet would be cool with clipping the dew claws and cropping the ears and docking the tail while they were spaying her. The vet guy that Ive known forever wasn't there, and the sub vet looked like she was a pretty good softball player in her day. She was balking on the ears, dew claws, and the tail, so I called the normal guy on his cellphone. Initially, he didnt want to do it, but he finally agreed to.

When I walked in with Sammie, the vet tech looked at her and said, "that's a good looking pit mix."
Somewhere, pitbulleric and the irony gods are laughing at me.
