Is it safe to say the sections in speckled red are the sections that are closed?

If so it wasn't as much as I thought.

I thought lower 2 was closed too?

Lower 2 is closed - it's the small link labeled rock garden. Always fun, but with upper 2 and school bus getting more interesting, it'll still be good. I didn't know peckerwood was closed too? Does anyone remember if that is the section that has that knarly little chute or is that at the top of 6 - hadn't been over there in years - with the closures I'd planned on checking it out. That part of 8 that is closed is definitely not a big loss. Slick rock is a bummer - but with the "manufacturer's" paving it with rock stacking last few trips it's kinda sucked - and I recollect hearing the top got smoothed out too - shame, couldn't believe that so many arse holes went off trail between last May and August - kudos to the volunteers for welding in more barricades...

For those camping in the woods...8 is not closed until the first bridge, which is on the other side of the "pines". IOTW, 8 is open to the pines and there is a gate at the first bridge.

All of 7 (Peckerwood) is closed. The bottom of 7 was (according to the USFS) dumping silt into Peckerwood Creek. 7 had not been worked in the trail maintenance in about 7-8 years and had really eroded. If you were paying attention last year, this is where Chris England rolled when attempting to go DOWN 7. There were/are some huge off camber ledges and the only people who usually ran it were the big cab trucks with 44+ tires.

Marshal,

would it be ok to download this image and print a stack to put in the registration packets? With due credit of course! I've got a color laser printer at work...

Todd

Todd I borrowed with their permission this image from someone with Carolina Trail Bazers. I have edited it a little. I don't see why you couldn't as long as your not selling them.

Are the speckled red areas actually what are closed? DO I need to edit them more?

Thanks Marshall. It looks good except on 8. Its open through The Pines and closed at the first bridge. I *think" that's about where the #8 is on the map, but its been awhile since I was up there.

If you decide to make changes, can you add a note to the legend noting the 12 month temporary closures?

thanks,

Todd

Didnt they take a rock hammer to schoolbus as well?

Ack! You kept telling me they were going to do that when we were up there last August - I was hoping you were wrong! Tell me it ain't so???

Dan - You ready to hit all the trails this year?

Alan H - You going?

All of the South Florida folk are out this year - least from what I've gathered. Even Al is not able to make it ;-(
