The raffle has been on sat. night for the last few years but has been moved this year to Friday night. Last year we noticed a few people need to leave sat. night or early sunday morning to make the drive home. We hope this will make it a little easier for those of you that have a long drive
 
Yes it was Sat night last year.

We had a bit of an issue last year. I thought I'd reserved the cabin for the whole week. Well, Sat AM, Connie (from Windrock) comes up and asks when we're gonna be out. HUH? Oh s***.

Scramble time... that was like 9AM, everyone was kinda lazyily eating breakfast... "Quick, pack your s***! We gotta get outta here!".

Connie was very nice and worked with us as best she could hide her anxiety that the next tenants might show at any minute! Anyway, we packed it all up quickly, then went and helped those that camped do the same. We found a local B&B that we stayed at that night - which was probably a good thing. As long as it took everyone to pack up, we never would have been ready to go on Sunday AM!

So two lessons learned: pack Saturday, and rent the cabin FOR THE WHOLE WEEK NEXT TIME! (yes, I did. And I even double-checked the days last week!)

So if we follow the same plan as last year, it'll be drive up Monday, drive back home Sunday.

We didn't wheel on Saturday, but didn't plan to from the beginning - since you have to pay for each day to wheel and we had a few folks that had entire families to pay for each day, we decided Saturday was out. It was crappy weather anyway, so it all worked out.
 
I might be wanting to go to this. Cant commit right now but will keep it in mind!
 
I will be bringing my whole crew this year again. Were reserving accomodations 10 minutes away because i really dont feel like packing my crew up to camp again. Were gonna be there monday through sunday so ill see you guys up there.
 
Man I just bought my first TLC, an FZJ80 this month. I'd love to go, if only it was a week earlier! I'll strongly consider going if theres anyone in FL wanting to carpool up and split gas with me. I don't need a cabin/hotel. Hammock camping all the way. May need to borrow someone's shower every couple days :p

There are very nice shower facilities on-site. And yes, we carpool up as much as possible!
 
28 days till GSMTR, only 17 days till price goes up. If you have not already registered it’s time. You don’t want to miss this one. Go To http://www.stlca.org/gsmtr/ to register. Remember when you are planning you schedule that the cookout is Thursday night and the BBQ and Raffle is Friday night.
 
Online GSMTR registration will close May 4th, so we can get registration packages prepared.

Registration will be available at the event but will not include a T-shirt, shirts will be for sale at the event while supplies last.
