You don’t want to miss the 23rd annual Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride May 12-17, 2014.
The event will be at Windrock Park which has over 300 miles of trails, so we can return to the all day trail rides of the past, at Windrock you can come for 6 days and ride new trails every day whether you are a stock beginner or a hard core buggy. This area is not Tellico but has dense forests and beautiful mountain views everyone should enjoy. We will be providing guided trail rides and for the more adventurous the park has excellent maps and the trails are well marked. For more park information: www.windrockpark.com
This year we have added an Expedition Run, Tuesday through Thursday with one day of riding through the park and two days in the North Cumberland Wild life management Area, a 250,000 acre area managed by the state and two nights of primitive camping. This ride is limited to 12 trucks, so sign up soon.
The included cook out will be Thursday evening and the Catered meal and Raffle will be Friday evening.
For more information and to register go to: www.stlca.org/gsmtr

I'm on the board already. I have the same cabin as last year reserved, we can fill it up with anyone willing to split the costs.

As for transport, I've looked into it every year and never found it cost effective - BUT I'm willing to give it a shot if someone knows a good company that doesn't mind "oversized" SUV's packed with stuff (many will refuse to ship trucks that have stuff in them!)

I sent my rig this past sept to windrock. with all my gear and did not have an issue. I used summet transport. they were the least expensive and the guy (cant remember the owners name) is also an offroader. the gear has to be secured (tied down) other wise its illegal to transport. so I made a plywood box and bolted it to the floor and filled it with my needed gear. box was 36in x 24in x 10in high.

It has one room with a double bunk and a single (I think, might be two bunks?). Then a loft that has two singles, and someone can always claim the couch if they want.

I haven't talked to Luis to see his plans, but so far I'm the only confirmed in the cabin!

All I ask is that if anyone does want to stay in the cabin, you keep in touch with me. Don't fold on me at the last minute!

are you all going to be there the entire week? im going wed evening-sund morning. ill be hitch hiking on I-75 heading north by 6:30pm wed

Is this only for Toyota vehicles? One of my 4 wheeling friends is land rover guy and he and I might be interested.
Ed

Not exclusively. There's a guy who always shows up in his Jeep, and no one gives him s*** for it. It's a really good crowd, not your usual "club" stuff if you know what I mean.

Yes, I plan on the full week. The days go really quick. Especially when you get stuck on the trail until 2:30AM.

This is an open event, we are not soliciting non Toyota vehicle but are happy to accept friends of Toyota owners. So yes your friend with the Land Rover can register.

I'll give you a call tonight... one of many calls I've been meaning to make for weeks now.... !

Update: room is filling up fast in the cabin... Luis is bringing his mom & dad as well as his daughter, so that's the downstairs room filled up.

Rocky wants a bed, so that leaves the couch if someone is so inclined.

I'm going to call and see if we can get the duplex unit - I have a feeling we won't have trouble filling it up this year!

Hey Carter , It will be just me and I'm only coming for a couple of days (Wed - Fri) . So if someone needs the room let them have it . I can sleep (pass out) anywhere , it's just the waking up that gets me in trouble .

We can put you somewhere so we don't trip over you. There's a back porch swing we can get you on.

No promises you'll wake up on the swing, but hey.

We're not zippering our sleeping bags together this time. It just didn't go well that one time, ya know?

Update - there are no cabins available. So what I reserved is all that's available, otherwise it's going to be a tent event or staying in a local hotel.

I noticed that this year the raffle is Friday night. Was it that way last year?

If so, did everyone bolt Saturday?

When is everyone planning to return home?
