Go down Trail 12 they said. It's not that bad, they said.
Justin Danny and I started the trail at 3pm I think. Luis and Gregg went out to look for us around 10:30. We all got back by 2:30am.
The day stared off pretty well. Sorry about the quality, will do better later. Here Justin having fun. Towards the beginning of the trail.

Later on things started getting a little more serious. Time was slipping, and the trail was continuing to get harder. Carnage started a little before this video was shot. Justin's door and a tree found each other. Danny lost a taillight at the same obstacle. I lost my fender flare on this same hill:

If you look close you can see Justin's flare pop too. We all grew tired of it ... But the trail wasn't done with us yet.
A little further along and the weather turned south. Dinner was shot. And we still hadn't dealt with one big hill climb. This is where things got seriously bad for us. All of the trails were slime. We winched my truck up the trail. Then had to tie off to respool because the trail was so slimy my truck would just slide right back down. Then winch some more.
Steve, you would have loved it. Your rig would have been just about perfect for this trail...
We started winching at 7:30 I think. We finally got my truck up by 11:30. Justin and Danny found another route and got to the top.
But that wasn't even the end. We still had an hour and half of trail left - all in about a quarter mile of distance. And then another hour on an easier trail, and a another hour getting back to camp.
Pretty miserable night for everyone. Trucks got a little abused but they all (eventually) made it. Maybe minus a flare here and there...
