Oh yeah - one more thing.

This is Trail 22, that we each did the first day. None of us had trouble with this spot. Granted, it wasn't this wet... but this is why we don't like the 100's... but when I say we didn't have trouble, it was pretty much a completely uneventful hill. Felt a little funny sliding over on the first part, but other than that - meh!

It would have never survived trail 12!!

Well...wet conditions and locked vs traction control isn't the fairest fight in the world

I agree. most of what we had issues with on 12 would've been totally different if it wasn't raining. not even the fully caged guys wanted to go down 12 the next day to get my $50 rain coat. they said sorry not after that rain.

What is the consensus on beefier tires (bigger lugs) helping him out? I had great results with my Hankooks but any time I run them in clay they gum up like this 100. I had great results with my Hankooks for 95+% of my driving and was going to get another set but Justin's new BFgoodrichs really bit in up at windrock.....

personally I love a good mud tire with big lugs/ voids between them. im really happy with the kumhos I have for the reason you stated greg. they clean out nice and bite good. but theyre not perfectly quiet on the road.

Tire dealers need courses. So you can try on a set of tires and test them before buying.

There's another enterprising idea for you... hah!

Does anyone remember any rules on camping off the trails? The north trails are so far from the official camp it would be cool to spend the night at the flats and then work our way back down the next morning. There are enough trails you could spend two nights out.

I read on the FJC forum the group that missed the Saturday night raffle also was out till 2:30AM. At least they were not in rain like Luis and I.

I just found my winch receipt and I did pay $39 for the three year extended warranty, all I have to do is pull it off the bumper and return it. I normally pass on those but have seen so many non-functioning winches....

Im not sure about camping but I like the idea. That is the bad thing about windrock with everything being so spread apart. But I know there were some prime spots we passed in the NE section around 55 I think.
We are working on something for next year that you guys may be interested in. The plan is a 3 day 2 night expo type run thru the park. We have been doing pre-runs over the last few months and should have all the details ironed out before registration opens in Jan.

sounds good what are the dates of the event there? also what level of off roading are you planning. hitting the super difficult rock crawling every chance or mild to moderate stuff?

Week of May 12th will be GSMTR 2014.

And there's everything from boring to hell at Windrock....

I'm interested in this camping idea, but it seems silly if you're paying for a cabin to go out and waste those days in the woods. So I'm a little torn on that one.
