If I was home...that first person to install would be me, tonight.:crybaby:

Awesome Loud! That rocks! I'm very interested to see how the driver's side goes and how much trouble you have getting the manifold studs out. Any plan on using penetrating oil or are you just going to apply elbow grease?

Will NAPA have the studs if broken? I do not want to get in there and break some super rare LC part over the weekend.

I've already been "PB Blasting" the appropiate bolts/nuts in anticipation of the install...

According to the FSM (page EM-34) they're truly studs (with nuts on the outside). If you break one it's going to be a job getting it out. Personally I'd take it to a pro rather than risk my block.

Most websites show stubborn nuts come off with heat and penetrating oil, with multiple applications of the latter used on the days preceding the job.

I read somewhere the studs were not that big of a deal. Need to keep digging. My LC is my DD and there is no out of service (OOS) time.

What penetrating oil are you using?

I would think "PB Blaster" likely...? :)

let's see some more pics of this header work of art...! Sure is shiny...

glad to see the group buy seems to be going fine

Sorry for the delayed answer. Larry, you can in fact remove the lh manifold without removing anything actually. You can remove the two motor mount bolts and tilt the motor up out of the way to gain more clearance. I have done about 100 of these (Most under warranty). I will tell you it will probably take you about 3-4 hours under the best conditions. I will also tell you one little nifty tool that will make the whole job alot easier a 14mm 3/4 length impact swivel socket, it is a regular swivel socket but the actual socket is sized in between a regular (shallow) and deep. I'm not gonna tell you guys how long it takes me now (I've had lots of practice) cause you'll get mad . Starters are the same after you do a few - no big deal. It's a living. Right??

Once you have it out, Have a reputable welder weld up the crack and reinstall.

If you have any other questions let me know, I'll be glad to assist.

Oh, is that a brand? I'm not familiar with it.

I gave nick my CC number and he told me that he shipped them yesterday, but there is not any notification from my bank that he received his payment.

Did nick take the money before he shipped the items for you guyz ?

Yeah, it's PB Blaster. You can pick it up at auto parts stores.

Since most of my exhaust is covered in baked-on mud, I've been blasting them daily (overnight) since last Sunday. Mud is gone at this point - don't expect any major problems with the bolts now since this stuff works like a champ.

They look amazing

Thanks uzj100 for the pictures

I hope mine are in their way to me :)

When I had my Pacemakers installed they had issues with the SS nuts galling(sp?) and had to replace some of the nuts and studs from the pack of OEM ones I'd supplied just in case.

beautiful
now to see how well they fit... :)

And here is a comparison of the LC100 DT headers vs the Tundra DT 4.7 headers.

Cool comparison. Thanks!

And here is a comparison of the LC100 DT headers vs the Tundra DT 4.7 headers.
Just a quick note on the design... Jamie in R & D at Doug Thorley built these headers and the production jigs. He tried to make the headers look nice and tight like the Tundra headers but could not for the life of him make it work on the drivers side working around the steering shaft (it is tight in there). That is the reason for the difference between both sides in case anyone is wondering. There is no change in performance just the looks. When I asked Jamie if it was a tough install he said no big deal, and that other designs have been worse.

Please report back after the install. Can't wait to hear the results. Mine are being installed soon.
