Group Buy - 100 Series Headers (6 Viewers)

When I went to the shop we talked about removing a drive shaft, but they made some calls and found a dyno a few miles away they could use. Thorley several dynos in the main facility but none for full time. I think a bunch of us should dyno these things with various combinations separatley. I would like to see the test sheets on stock versus new headers, cool air kit, new muffler w/and without resonator, etc... If i can be there I may have them run a seperate test before and after without my airfilter just to see what happens. Once these headers are ready everyone should report back and post the #'s from their local shops.

The only other upgrade I plan after headers will be a new Magnaflow muffler. My local shop told me that the resonator is not restrictive at all and can be left on. The muffler on the other hand is fairly restrictive.

Did you complete the Dyno run yet? If so, how did the headers perform? Did they sound good?

This is taking FOREVER! :bang:

People have been posting about getting headers since I joined the board more than five years ago and no one has gotten close until now. If i were in the buy I wouldn't be sweating anything.

I spoke to Nick at Doug Thorley today. We are close, and I am trying to schedule a final test fit. Stay tuned.

I've pretty much given up. "Nick" could have at least returned a phone call. A lesson for anyone that is a business owner or thinks they ever will be. If you can't even return a phone call, don't expect people to give you money. Maybe that's just me.

Tuned out.

It's not just you and you are EXACTLY correct.. There is no excuse whatsoever in not having the "courtesy" to return a phone call.. Not a good way to do business. WTF ?????? :bang:

Well guys, if you pull out now you are a bunch of wusses, no one has been able to get these happening, many have tried, lots of patience needed.
OK so they didn't call you back, you have plenty of updates here on this forum with info on original fitment, photos of product ready for welding etc.
UZJ100 didn't call me back when I had lots of suggestions and sent 100's of PM's and lots of individual posts to help get the numbers on the road, even though I don't even need them.
SO WHAT, I didn't get my knickers in a knot. Everybody has other things to do and we all use time differently depending on our own priorities.
This is a project that will benefit MANY, you need to commit to this project to make it happen, I believe there were close to numbers required a long time ago and many others have wanted to get into to this since.
Get your s*** together guys, this project is in it's final stages, stay committed and I expect you will reap the benefits.
From the information provided in this thread I expect the project is a "done deal", awaiting final construction. If it all falls over in a heap (which I doubt, but always possible) SO WHAT, none of you have coughed up any CASH yet by the sounds of it?
All of you whingers, pull your head in and wait for more info as posted by uzj100, DesertRun and others and see if you can all get this to the final stage and shipped out without spitting your dummy. A new production line item has to be squeezed in between normal business duties and takes time. MY THOUGHTS ONLY, feel free to have a go back, but don't bog this process down.

Loud, keep your hand away, and stop chatting, you want these............

If it's close to tundra prices,............ I'm in. I'll pay now. .....

I took the JBA bolt in header replacements and attempted fitment on my LX. Lined up with the block, obviously but the point where the tundra mid section lines up with the header is different then the LC....preventing compatibility.

mandrel bent or not, it would be better then the log tube type exhaust manifold we have.

shipping wont be much guys...its not like they're huge.

They'll probably fit in a box exactly this size...........

I'd rather the Doug's, lets get these ones.

So since I'm high on the list, I'll have a pair before moab correct?

we can have an install party in May.

These things need to come out soon, I need moar powah

thats what happens when a company stops developing their product...we get bored and start chatting.;)

UPDATE!!!!!

EMAIL from Nick with pictures.

Andrew,
They are actually moving along pretty quick. As of early yesterday everything was already bent and cut as you can kind of see in the pics. They should be going to welding hopefully today then off to ceramic by Monday. I wish I had an answer as to why everything is taking so long but unfortunately I don’t. I really appreciate all the headache and hard work you have done to positively reinforce this project.

would be cooler installed on my engine.

might as well hack off the resonator too though for clearance.

;) you blew up my spot man. Trying some new ways to get them to finish them already. If they see people are losing interest maybe they'll put them out instead of figuring we'll keep waiting. I want headers, I'm just sick of waiting.

Guys.

We have come along way on this. We really need to thank Desertrun for actually allowing them to take his cruiser apart.

This is not over until WE say so! YouTube - Animal House: Germans Bombed Pearl Harbor

I am @ 3000 miles away from Nick and yes he has not been the best but we are so close now.

Keep the faith. I know I am because the Farm truck sound drives me crazy everyday.

Thanks for all the support! I will call again today.

side effects

Do any of you guys know if there are any ill-effects caused by constantly running your vehicle with the exhaust leak?

100TD, what is "spitting your dummy"? I have no idea, but I like it ;)
Well, I know dummy is their slang for pacifier... so I guess it means crying like little babies.

Hoser's on to it
Australian Term: To indulge in a sudden display of anger or frustration; to lose one’s temper. The phrase is usually used of an adult, and the implication is that the outburst is childish, like a baby spitting out its dummy in a tantrum and refusing to be pacified. (Dummy is a pacifier)

It's like going to the park to play ball, and you lose, and take the bat & ball home, which stops everybody else playing...............

you're such a dad.
Haha, I was talking to this Australian woman at the airport and at one point she asked if my baby took a dummy....

"Wait, what did you call my kid?" LOL.

As for the headers, this group buy has been a nice group effort. Hopefully after this run of headers, they'll become a normally stocked item.

gotta have the first run before you can make em a normally stocked item. I'll inhale Monday, hopefully I've got the lung capacity.
