As many of the rubber grommets and body plugs for older cruisers are not made by Toyota anymore, or outrageously expensive from some parts vendors, I set out to find what I needed on the big www. I found a great website that had a terrific selection of automotive grommets and body plugs called Rubber the Right Way at www.rubbertherightway.com. I was able to find everything I that needed on this one site.
I used a 5/16" hole punch to modify a 1 1/2" body plug to fit over the two emissions lines coming out of the floor near the filler neck.

One other discontinued part is the little bellows that goes over the tcase shift linkage on the vacuum shifted ones.

Rummaging through my junk drawer, I found a rubber boot from a '92 4runner V6 clutch slave cylinder. Fit perfectly.

They list everything by dimensions under " Universal Rubber and Clips > Rubber Parts" I will list the part numbers I used for each application.

I love it when people share info on hard-to-find items. And if you haven't already noticed..... a bunch of stuff that used to be easily available at the dealer has become unobtainium very recently. I think we are being quietly phased out by Papa Toyoda. Thanks for the info!

I am really interested in the list you used as I need all the gromlets over 1". Got a kit from Harbor Freight for the under one inch. Great find you just saved all of us a lot of work looking to find a source. I am going to buy a 12x24 sheet of 1/16 neopreme for 6.11 plus ride from Grainger to make all the gaskets under all the hinges. That seems cheaper than buying them from SOR.

Has anyone found a source for the large oblong grommets in the frame where brake lines and electrical pass through the frame?

Caution: hi-tech tech
Tru Value hardware grommet 64374 fits pretty well. Unlike square pegs round grommets fit in oval holes.

I used the 1/16" rubber material and made my gaskets for all the hinges as well. Worked great. Also made other gaskets from a roll of pressed gasket material I think I bought from NAPA.

Two grommets - The first is about 2.25 in. OD. Not sure about the second one. 1970 FJ40.

Doesn’t look like they list online the bulk items in the section with all the drawers of various things like bolts, nuts, .... 64374 is the number on the box you write on the plastic bag that you give to the checkout clerk. Similar setup they have at Lowe’s.

I went by my Local True Value and Ace Hardware stores today. Unfortunately, they are using Hillman for their hardware and the part number does not work. What would really help is the dimensions of the grommet ID, OD and the groove width. Thanks

Well I haven’t made it back to the Tru Value to see what they list for sizes on their bulk parts, but here’s some rough measurements with a Chinese made micrometer, in English units: ID 0.75”, OD 1.25”, slit diameter 1.1”, slit width 0.085”.
