I saw a video of the V-Line beta on an '03 GX470 and it looked like responsiveness was a major problem. I'm torn between trying it anyway, or just doing a bluetooth audio adapter and using Android Auto on my phone.

thanks just ordered will install and let you guy know how it goes

These are really making me want to sell my VAIS MML (Ipod/iphone/usb input)
How was your experience with that? I just want bluetooth streaming and the GROM looks like its using ancient hardware

My Vais MML only provides a usb input for either a thumb drive or iphone/ipod. (other models do bluetooth streaming)
No complaints at all with the MML, it is easy to use and as fast as any other part of the system. No noticeable lag at all, and also allows for the CD changer to work. (Comes up as changer 1 and changer 2) This was very important to me for the kids to watch DVDs...

The VAIStech SLB3 works very well for bluetooth streaming (at least on Android). I think will also do phone calls, altbhough on my 2009 I am using the integrated bluetooth for phone with zero issues of both systems playing nice with each other.

if anyone pre-order and did not get shipping notification contact them. seem like they forgot to ship my unit out

Thanks for the heads up, I also pre-ordered and haven't heard anything yet from them.

Just received mine but probably wont have time to install it till the weekend. Anyone do the install yet? Any recommendations for where to mount the unit?

What you can do with VLine
l1j89m.gif
Music Apps: Web Radio, Spotify, Google Music, Local (stored on the phone) music, Pandora, and others will be displayed on your car stereo screen. Use VLine plug-ins or open any app from Play Store.

l1j89m.gif
Google and Waze maps: use Google and Waze maps for navigation and real time traffic updates, right from your car stereo navigation screen.
l1j89m.gif

l1j89m.gif
Voice Search: use voice control for navigation and music. No need to enter the address, you can simply tell your car where would you like to go.
l1j89m.gif

l1j89m.gif
Other apps: You can instal other apps available at Google Play. (*not all of them are optimized for driving)
l1j89m.gif

l1j89m.gif
Sound Quality: High quality pure crystal-clear sound, using your factory car stereo system.

l1j89m.gif
Firmware upgrades

ver the air via internet download, and via USB.
l1j89m.gif

l1j89m.gif
Potential for future upgrades include: OBDII information right from your stereo screen; rear parking cameras and front facing cameras.

Integration with your existing system is seamless. You will keep all factory controls and features. You will be able to access FM radio, CD changer, use factory Bluetooth and so on.

l1j89m.gif
That's what you would get with the VLine.

l1j89m.gif
However what you do get with the BT3 that you don't get with VLine is phone calls.

l1j89m.gif
No phone calls with VLine.

just thought I would update everyone on the limitations. I need the phone interaction more than the other items which are listed above, glad i didnt pull the trigger on this one.

Travis

You should still be able to use the OEM bluetooth system for phone calls, no?

Thanks for the heads up, though - I would have assumed that the V-Line could do phone calls..

I have the 2003 GX 470 with navigation..... which doesnt allow me to have blutooth with out the GROM BT3 unit.

anyone else got it installed. got it installed last night and it is buggy. nothing on the vline worked. yes i have ac controls. and all but when trying to switch to the vline it doesnt or when trying to goto it doesnt work. or when i get to it i have no sound. cant install apps. geez.

Wow, no phone calls?!? Is there a bluetooth add-on you can get that would allow for handsfree calling? That seems like a really obvious shortcoming on a product like this!
