:grinpimp:uh.... no update - but what might be interesting to some is that I posted that pic of the mesh and 70 emblem back in Feb... and it's STILL not done... however, SINCE FEB I've added a Warn M12K winch, Sahara Bar, ARB rear bumper, Hella lights with some swanky wiring, a Hellroaring Dual Bat set-up, weathertech floormats, painted the trim peices to match the truck... and probably replaced the air freshener a few times..... I've also purchased black paint for the stock grill to see how that looks first before I do a retro 70 mod...

anyone interested in buying some mesh and a 70 emblem? :grinpimp:

ya ya, I'll get to it....

This is back on go. I have a 60 series emblem on the way. I will mount it in the normal slat grill from a 100 series. What is the best tool to cut plastic with?

Should the Toyota emblem, be white, be champagne to match the vehicle or black and hidden?

I was just looking at my 60 emblem and wire mesh panel last night, it was easy to walk away from... ;-) but I wish it was higher on my priority list.

Can't wait to see your results!!

i've been wanting to satoshi-grill my 100 and my 93 pickup for a while to make them stand out a little bit. i think a dremel tool should be able to give a nice cut and allow the dexterity to get intricate with your cuts. you might need to get some filler (like bondo or hard epoxy) to use on the plastic housing after you cut off the slats. the thing stopping me is finding the right way to mount the new mesh grill without seeing mounting tabs behind the mesh, yet have enough strength to keep mesh from flopping around at 80mph, or be able to withstand a blow from something. i was thinking a piece of flat bar bent into the shape of the grill's inside circumference would be able to hold the mesh all the way around - and then put a couple screws through it to the plastic housing to secure it in. might also need a crossmember since the 100's grill covers so much area; the design would be very similar to those wooden embroidery frames.

I am keeping all the slats except the cut out for the emblem. I like the wire mesh however I was going with this first to make sure I like it and it works out.

The quick solution

GUys,

I finally mounted the 60 series emblem. This is the 25ft mounting method, only looks good from 25 feet.

lol mot. I think people will know it's a toyota now!

Uzj- i like it. Looks good man. That wire mesh would look badass too. I like the straight up " Toyota". Short and to the piont.

Good job.

I wonder if this would look as good as on a LX using the Lexus script?:hhmm:

Thoughts???? Loud???

Sorry it's an 80, but Treeroot's version is still the best IMHO! I saw it this weekend in person and it is amazing!
