Grill from a 70

I like the "retro" factory look - that is the point here... A grill that has Toyota (like EVERY other Land Cruiser) and not the sombero/jellybean badge.

Land Cruiser might look good, to each his own - I simply like the standard/retro look

I'd rather put "Land Cruiser" on the front edge of my hood than that "TOYOTA" on the grill. Toyota doesn't make the Land Cruiser anyway, Araco does.
:)

Toyota makes them now.....and we are going for more of a retro look then a fake range rover look

In Australia the 100's have "Land Cruiser" on the hood. (Check out the 100 in your ARB catalog which is from Australia). MIGHT be an add on, but might not. Never know on non-USA bound cruisers.

So are you saying that most of us are driving Araco Land Cruisers? I understood that that company was owned/partially owned by Toyota and assembled the bodies and did paint for the Toyota vehicles.

So something assembled by Araco but produced by Toyota, in my eyes is a Toyota.

Are many Ferraris actually Pininfarinas, and many old GM classics are Fishers?

I am not trying to be critical, but why say that Toyota does not make them?

I cut the inside of my grill out to install a billet (wish I hadn't) but it came out good. Wasn't to bad. I used a hack saw and a dremmel to clean it up.
The oem ones are on ebay for like $30 if you ever want to go back.

not sure if I will - I HOPE to not have to put in support - I am hoping that once I get the grill hollowed out, and then notch/screw the mesh in things will be fairly stable. I think the edges all the way around will be "L" shaped - so that will help.
Might get to it tomorrow, we'll see... if not it might be another week...

Does anyone have this done yet? I am going to restart my project by finding a 60 series emblem, the one I had coming was destroyed by UPS. The next question, what if the rear grills on the d pillars are painted black like on the early 60 series or maybe just the mesh inside the grills? Has anyone done that on a hundy?

I am going to cut my slatted 100 grill and fit the word TOYOTA in there, see this 60

I just ordered a second TOYOTA emblem. I hope to get it this week and complete this weekend. I will take pictures.

Along the same lines or what you are going to do (but more blingy)... seen on the CL forum.
