My brother @SnowVersion and I are organizing a time-speed-distance rally outside of Helena on May 31st. We are looking for people with interesting, older daily driver cars to participate. We are also looking for individuals who would be interested in being part of the timekeeping and photography team for the rally.

What is the approximate mileage?
 
Right now we are looking at around 60 miles/2-4 hours driving time. Waiting on snow to melt out some so we can pre-run our different route options before we make a decision.

Another thing I should note, the wording on the website needs to change, you can treat the "registration" form as expressing interest and not binding. Once we finalize a route and starting location time we will contact everyone who has filled out the form and confirm their entry. The form helps us get an idea of how many people are interested, the kinds of vehicles they will be driving, and their route length and composition preferences.
 
Yeah, that should be just fine. It will be a fairly informal event.
 
DOpe, well its on my calendar, Im a definitely maybe. the chaos that is my life lately might align and make this happen. but i wont be able to say for sure until closer to the event date. thanks for posting

Damn, really hoped that I would have the 84 Camry TD going for this one but it's not looking good =[

I'd take the old Mitsubishi Bravo but at a top speed of like 40mph I'd need a week off just to get there and back
 
Bummer! Hopefully you can find a smoking gun somewhere with that electrical system (maybe not literally smoking!).

Right? It's going to feel sooooo good when it works again. Not giving up yet, I managed to hook up with a dude down in Kalispell willing to exchange currency for knowledge so hopefully he will get me on the right path
 
Well I guess I'm officially a no-go on this one.... I travel for work that following Monday and with the chance of the Camry s***ting out on me many hours from home is a bit risky.....

I thought I like to live dangerously, but for now I will walk away with great great shame.

PS - Maybe we could scheme up another rally in the Flathead? I like the idea of what you put together here
 
Bummer! I totally understand though, when an older vehicle has given trouble like that I always feel like I need to put some local miles on to rebuild trust in it.

Depending on how this rally goes, we have tentative plans for another rally in the greater Flathead area either this fall or next spring. I already have some route ideas bouncing around in my head.

I blame it all on that stupid thing called work that takes up way too much of life....

Keep me informed if I can assist in anyway when it comes to something in the Flathead our surrounding area....I bet we could sort out a few good routes with big views and fun roads to cruise on.. I was also thinking a bit today, not many roads I haven't explored up this way
