We got the fuel pump sensor wired to the gauge but it seems the "ratio" or calibration is off. When i start the engin the needle begins to fluctuate a little but remains at zero. The needle moves when i rev, but where I should probably be at around 2500rpm the tac reads under 500rpm.

I guess this is because the old sensor was on the bell housing and the new one is one the pump so the guage it calibrated for the bell housing unit?

I figure i will need a new tac and would like to keep in in teh stock location if i might. SO..

- does a BJ60 tac run off the fuel pump or the bell housing? possible swap?
- I would imagine a 70 series tach would not fit in the 60 series location...am i wrong?
- What aftermarket options do i have?? Most aftermarket tacs are distributor or coil actuated...no?

In the one HDJ60 swap I've seen, a HZJ7_ tach was modified to fit into the 60 instrument cluster. I've also read of how a guy in Oz took his HJ60 tach to a shop where they redid the electronics of the tach.

Talk to some speedometer shops and see what they recommend. Maybe ask these guys: http://www.terf.com/TachChangerPage.htm

Some aftermarket choices:
