I have done the "clunk research", but I haven't found any thread addressing "clunk" when the vehicle is stopped and shifting from drive to reverse or reverse to drive. The thread is probably out there, but I just can't find it. Is this the driveline clunk everyone is talking about, because I thought that was only when you were starting or stopping?

Can anyone help or lead me in the right direction?

Russell,

You're probably experiencing the classic clunk. It's fairly normal and a result of all the bits in the 80 driveline. Robbie has explained it best in prior posts. Try searching for keyword "drive plates" and author Robbie. Or maybe "flange" and any author.
