K, I do NOTHING that is typical, you know that. I like the road that has a plethora of narrow trails, 2000' drop offs and uphill both ways in the snow and ice.... I think the Vortec is okay but, like the idea of all YOTA. 5.7 Liter 380HP/400ft# with an auto 6 speed. Sounds like the 80 T/C can be mated to the 6 spd transmission and that way I can use either my spare 4.11 FF 60 front and FF rear (YES, I have a 60 FF spare rear) or stay with the 80 e-locker F&R and also maintain 4 wheel disc brakes to boot. Otherwise I will need to go with a custom centered Currie or Diamond housing with a 60/80 3rd and mini truck/or custom axles. ONCE AGAIN, want to stay full YOTA.
A's 80 is too nice to chop up. She will either keep it as her grocery/errand runner or sell it once we get moved/maybe before.
Feeling Dirty... NAH! as long as it doesn't look like a soccer mom rig... I'M GOOD with it having the 80 chassis.
Since the 80 body and engine mean nothing to me, a blown engine trail rig 80 is what I will look for first and go from there. If the local wrecking yard still has the 2009 Tundra 4x4 power train when we are about to leave. I will stop and grab it a week or two before we leave and take it with me. 47K miles on it- all accessories, harness and computers included ($$ cheaper than a 2F rebuild and new H55F). It was rolled a few months back in the last ice storm we had.
Just remember, I still want to try and put a 60 body on a FULL FJC chassis and power train.... (6 spd manual though...) Got to have limitations occasionally.
