I heard a loud rubbing metal sound coming from my driver's side. I think I found the culprit when I got home. The hanger that attaches to the muffler right after the cats broke. It's about a 1/16th of an inch from the frame rail and is rubbing on turns and acceleration.

Cuz someone replaced OE with cheap strap. How's she run?

It runs like dream.
How are you approaching break in of the motor? I've read some varying opinions, including a very interesting paper from Shell on breaking in aircraft motors. I'll hopefully be in your shoes shortly, so trying to figure it out.

Well, disappointing news. There is a leak somewhere in the engine. When I went to change the oil I noticed that there was fluid (likely oil) going down the driver's side frame rail, the oil pan and the underside of the engine and going down the transfer case along the speedo cable and on the skid plate. The good news is that I found a new mechanic. He has a muffler shop, which fixed the above issue, and a performance mechanic shop. He specializes in hot rods, but takes regular jobs. He is a true car guy and appreciates the 80 as a "performance' vehicle. He is going to track down the issue(s) that is causing the leak. The bummer is I can't take the GG80 to Moab. I will still be going. The GG60 will be there. I will be taking my Subie, but riding along in the 60 for trail runs. The good news is that I will be in Moab - not work!

I should have the 80 in the booth at Expo West for anyone going there. Regardless, I look forward to meeting my fellow mudders on Thursday night.

I did a general break in. I drove it 500 miles keeping it in the mid range between 2k & 3k rpm.

Doing some camping related improvements this weekend. I have been storing my chair next to my fridge and it would rest on the floor. For a long time I have wanted to be able to elevate it so I could store my water underneath without having to lift up the chair every time I needed to access it. I finally found the solution on Amazon. I got a couple of 4 inch camera rails along with connectors. I had a couple of roll-in t-nuts on hand. Problem solved.

I'm really glad to see you NOT having to post about shop delays and anything else related engine rebuild work. Enjoy the fruits of the grind as am I.

It certainly is awesome to have that behind me. I am planning on enjoying the fruits of my labor as you are.

I got to take the 80 out for the first time to really stretch it's legs. I took it to a family reunion in St. Louis, which is about a 3,500 round trip from So Cal. Here is night one in Utah camping in Fishlake National Forest:

As you can see, I took the two pooches with me. Coffee is a necessity so I was brewing it up in the shot below.
