Just bought a set of Duratracs... Really wanted a large tire that looked aggressive so I went with 315's. Will do a little cutting and griding to maximize clearance. Bought from Discount Tire so I also added the Protection Plan for $100 which covers any blowouts or failures throughout the life of the tire should they occur. So far I am very pleased with them. Tough to beat for the price.

Iron eagle, more pics please! I'll be bumping up to 4.88s and 315s so I'd love to see those from more angles. Looks fantastic.

do you have wheel spacers?

What size rim is that? Looks nice.

I have been really impressed with mine so far. No difficult wheeling yet, but snowy roads and highways they've been excellent, so much better than the Toyo MT's.. and the quietness is excellent, plus I still think they look cool even after 6 months.

I am still a little leery on the whole weak sidewall thing though, but I bought the ARB repair kit and have that in the truck, also bought the replacements certs from Discount, and also have AAA! None of those three are as good as not getting a flat in the first place though, but at least I feel somewhat prepared, plus I rarely go out alone.

How's the clearance on the a-arm and steering knuckle. Fuzz's 305's didn't fit, I'm shocked 315's do.

It is ridiculously close... Probably will add some spacers to widen the gap. They don't rub against the A-arm but the tire nipples barely make contact with it.

No spacers....size is 315/75/16 on factory wheels. Considering painting them flat black. Also going to paint the ugly grey trim black.

This is one reason i keep considering getting the 16's for my truck. I am rather limited in size with my stock 18's.

Ever consider a gunmetal color? It'll be darker than the stock silver. I think that may look quite nice.

that is what i have and love them!

I am very impressed with the 285 / 75 / 16 ... even though I love the look of the 35 ... I think the 285 will take me where I am going. I would highly recommend this tire in any size...

I'm surprised that the 315s fit with no spacers, but like Spresso and I were discussing during my whole ordeal with the 305s, a 35" tire puts the widest part of the sidewall further up in relation to the ball joint/steering knuckle and actually allows for more clearance than a 305.

Translation: I should have just bought 315s to begin with!

...but then some other unlucky forum goer would've had to discover the issue with the 305s. I took one for the team.

I've got about 16k miles on my Duratracs now. Overall I'm happy with them, however I have just recently started noticing a little more hum than I had before; although it could just be me, I'm not sure. I've done 2 rotations so far, and they have worn evenly, I'd bet they've worn about 3-4/32nds since I've purchased. I'd have to think that would be normal; and I was expecting slightly higher wear with these than perhaps some others.

These tires are very good in the mud/snow/ice, and have much better turn-in and stability than my old geolanders however they were D rated, so the stiffer sidewall is certainly playing a part in that. They are 275/70 series. So far I'm happy that I went with a 70 series so that there was enough sidewall for offroad venturing, and similar on-road manners as compared to the stock size as the bias is the same.
