What is the status of the Gold Camp / Eagle Rock trip?

I would be up for whatever on Saturday during the day.. I was up in the area last weekend and it was nice!
I think we should make a run up Saran Wrap and do any Cleanup work or minor trail repairs that are needed.. then cruise over to Eagle rock and see how far we can make it!

with this 80 degree weather i bet the snow will be gone soon!

And i know of another area off of gold camp that is in need of some Cleanup (Shot Gun Shells everywhere (they Shot a bunch of 6" thick Trees till they fell down):mad:

Bummer! I really want to check out those trails with you guys....unfortunately, we have 13 (yes 13) grad parties to go to this weekend and we expect about 200 folks at our daughters here on Monday. I'll be thinking of you! :frown:

I have been in contact with Rick Ellison (Forest Service Volunteer coordinator) and let him know that we were going to be in the area on the 24th. He does not have a formal cleanup planned. It is up to us to do our own thing. Part of the problem is that there have been no reports to the FOrest Service as to the condition of the trails in that area. I think that after we run the trails and let Rick know the condition that we could get a formal work trip together. It sounds like it is no on there high interest trail list. From our conversation Rick was glad to have us going out on any trails and getting feedback on any problems and also results of the trail inspection.

Th schedule has me down as the leader. I will only be able to on the trail on Saturday. Is anyone interested in camping? If you are going camping please please reply to this forum and we will set up a meeting time and place on the mountain.

I will be there on Saturday but I don't think we will be camping.

Do we need to bring tools for trail repairs or is going to be a scouting trip?

I'll be bringing myself, a jeep and probably another FJ80.

Seems kind of quite on the responses for this trip?

i will see you in the morning Chuck, Ive been looking for an excuse to go up eagle rock anyway..

This is mostly a scouting trip, but if we see some minor trail cleanup or repair we could do some of that!

If anyone has a chainsaw it may be a good idea to bring it in case we have any trees down on the trail!

Wow, what a great day of wheeling! it was nice and low paced relaxing day.

Chuck Brought along some friends from divide, an FZJ80 on 35's and a buddy in a Jeep, we gave the jeep crap all day long and he was still in good spirits!

We also met a guy with nicely built 2nd Gen 4Runner!

We ended up going to the end of Reynolds Wrap, then ran Eagle rock.

Eagle Rock has changed Yet again this year. the Left line on the first Obstacle is Near Impossible now, and there is a nice (By passable) Rock obstacle at the top of the Steep Hill Climb.

We had a Great Mix of tucks and people and had a Blast. 2 FJ40's, a FJ55, a FJ60, two FJ80's, a 4Runner, and the jeep ;)

now Who has Photos to post??

Here are a few pictures from Saturday.

And some more.
The 4Runner pulled the front drive shaft apart and the white FJ80 seems to have slipped the splines on the rear carrier.
