DO you think I'm crazy? I bought the black and Orange Vinyl and plan on doing front and back.

I've got to make the piping and buy some hog rigs. But I have some foam and don't laugh but I can sew really good. :ban: And I have nylon thread and the right needles.

SO has anybody attemped this. I mean when I looked at what spector was selling replacments for it was outrageously priced and I'm sure I could get Bucket Stich to do it for a reasonable price but I just thing I'm stupid enough to give it a try plus if all fails I'll just make some roll bar pads.

I recently had some seats recovered on my boat for a reasonable fee. 2 different colors with nice piping, etc. Of course, here in florida, marine seat/canvas shops are everywhere and that helps keep prices down.

I also can sew really well (Mothere had a clothing store and was a seamstress). I have done similar stuff in the past but now find it is easier to pay someone. If you haven't tried it before, I say go for it. I have used nylon wire ties in the past instead of hog rings and found they held up pretty well.

Since your going with the orange on the inside I'm all for it. If you had said tarheel blue I might not have supported you as much. LOL

This is the good one. :D

Go for it marshall, I think it will look PIMP.

I tried to use nylon serging thread but it sucks. I got a little of the bottom cushion done but I'm going to by some spyder fishing line to sew everything that way it can never come apart.

wow, and he gets it done quick, too......

lookin nice man

damn those things are pimpin, what kind of work do you do marshall, and do you spend any time with your wife...lol. you seem to be able to work more on your cruiser than anyone else in here. you sure you haven't won the lottery and just haven't told any of us. Looks great though!

I'm married my wife has her own hobbies (stain glass, fusing, beading, gardening) and I have mine (cruiser , woodworking, fishing, photography, and smoking meat) Heres the deal. I work my ass of at work and so does my wife and "we don't have any kids", yet. SO that means we save some, we spend some. When the kids come a lot of my hobbies will slow down.

:D

My friends tease me and call me McGyver. They say I can make or fix anything. They all used to kid me saying if I could make them a helicopter out of a ceiling fan and duct tape. lol

I don't know if they were right. Once you have known me long enough you can make that decision. Though I've never done upolstry untill this Monday.

Oh and just because I can make and fix s*** doesn't mean I can spell or type. :flipoff2:

You da man Marshall! I know you import Rugs or something like that. Did you sew those up at home or work? I guess what I'm askin did you do those by hand or a machine? I believe to be getting some bucket seats from Rick Pate and I think they'll need to be recovered. Definately wanna do them in vinyl. Need to learn your technique on that sewing thing. Later man

Those look very nice Marshal you think we coulr work out a deal where you make me up some for the pig in the fall maybe? I'll buy whatever materials you need and give you some money, or some beverages or something.

Those are PIMPIN' just like I thought they would be. Nice work Marshall!

I would say 4 oz but I have no clue as to what thickness I bought. It just felt and looked right. The orange is pretty thick since that is what my ass sit's on and the black is a little thinner and more flexable.

thanks,

i was trying to get a shop to redo the seats in 8oz, the 8oz is usually used on tool pouches (dark brown and yellow thread). can not find a shop that will do seats in 8oz. they claim it will not work, but none of them have actually tried it yet.
