Im hoping sombody can tell me by looking at the photo if the angle and distance from the dash is about right . I dont have another cruiser to compare it with so your help is appreciated.

Hey, On my 71 from the face of the dash, not the instrument cluster, my steering column measures approx. 13.5" to the tip of the nut. As far as the angle, looking from the seat to the dash, the top of the nut is almost even with the top of the instrument cluster. Hope that helps. BTW, it appears you have a 350 conversion in your rig. Did you have any problems wiring it up?

I havn't gotten to the wiring part yet. I plan on using aftermarket gauges so converting the cruiser stuff isn't going to matter much (i dont think !). The ignition/flashers are going to be cruiser, the turn signals and horn will be Gm. I did find a diagram of the wires that I haven't checked yet I hope its the right one...we'll see today.
