Been having problems with my glow plug system on my 1980 Bj40, didn't always have current and if I had current to the plugs it varied form 7v to 24v.
I took the cover off of the relay to check it and noticed that one of the relays was a bit burned, then I put power on it and it arced similar to a welding arc, when I took a closer look there was some very little metal particals on top of the magnet inbetween the two connecter points, preventing the relay to have a good connections between the two connecter points when it was engaged!
Cleaned it out and it was as good as new, works perfect now. I know this isn't hardcore tech but maybe it will save someone needlessly searching for the problem with their glow plug sysytem!
