Location: Windhoek, Namibia
Country of Origin: South Africa
Kms: 343,000 +
Mods: Double cab conversion, Exhaust headers, OME heavy duty lift, ARB Bullbar, Warn winch, Dual fuel tank (homebrew, 1300km range), dual water tank running boards, ARB rear air locker, Safari snorkel.

The picture was taken before my interesting rollover experience. :whoops: I have since got rid of ~250kg of mangled steel canopy and assorted overbuilt roof racks. These days there is a simple plywood deck covering the bed.

Nice cruiser ,they do look much better than the oem dual cabs

Thanks!

The OEM double cabs seem to have less space in the back, albeit with a correspondingly longer pickup bed. The conversions all make various compromises in terms of materials and durability, especially with respect to the fit and finish of the doors, fuel tank filler location, etc. That said, it's an eminently practical thing, and I wonder why Toyota took such a long time bringing one to market.

And yes, recycling the tooling for the rear doors from the station wagon, while efficient, does look rather silly.
