Summer is almost over so I guess its time to get this project going:rolleyes:

With a fridge inside the Land Cruiser, the inside can get very hot from the heat off compressor running. I dont like leaving my windows open but with the pictured set up one can securly vent both rear windows. I plan on making some for myself and wondered if there was other members with interest.

I would like some input on what others would like to see as for size. Im thinking like 4" tall should provide good ventalation. They will be able to work without any modification, can be quickly and easily installed, removed, and still as secure as the exsiting window.

Discloser - Idea happily stolen from the Land Rover crowd:D

Thoughts?

An Arizona influenced design!

Great idea: Put me down for a pair Phil ~

Would the black powder coat more heat?

I vote stainless - won't get too scratched up when they are bouncing around the back of the truck. Now if only @Saddletramp can have his mother-in-law makes some nice carry bags!

Either way, put me down for a set for the 100 (while you are at it, will you make me a set for my Suburban?

Sltainless...black attracts more heat

Stainless gets really hot in direct sun too. Though I don't know that any color metal down here in the sun is going to be cooler than any other.

Black, less conspicuous and will blend with the black tint and window frame.

Either that or pimpin chrome! (not really)

Thoughts?

See if you can fit a solar powered fan to keep air circulating. I find that even with a window open the heat from my Engel fridge accumulates on the passenger side.

Looks a lot better than this option and yours should keep the rain out too.

In for a pair for sure. What a great idea. Maybe vary the sizes so we could buy the 4 inch for Summer and the 2" for Winter? Could probably glue a mesh screen on them to keep the critters out too, back up for when my bug screens wear out.

Cool idea (pun intended).

This is kind of along the line of a vent visor. But, maybe those look a little too "early 2000's" for people(?). I like the idea of both, venting the truck, but monsoon-season proof. These look way more Expo -worthy ;).

Black >SS

if you go , go all the way

4" vents I'm thinking
