Whatever ended up happening with yours? Not trying to dredge if it was a bad diagnosis.

These Monks . . . they spend a lot of time with dogs? :flipoff2:

He's fine. Thanks for asking. The vet looked him over and said it could be anything, but that the dog seemed healthy, so why go nuts about it.

Crate
Taking them out regulary
Praise them when they do it right

When they do crap or pee in the house. I shake a can I filled with rocks or dry beans and then proceed to beat their ass with a newspaper while burying their nose in what they just did. 1 week tops on the whole training thing and eventually all you will need is the can to shake when they fxxx up doing something they shouldn't.

If you got a chocolate lab you may be doing said above longer.

If you think they are peeing in the house and you cannot see it get a black light and use it at night. Just be warned it may scare the hell out of you what it shows.

Labs are the best. Here's my advice:

1. crate train lab puppies;
2. no hitting;
3. be consistent about discipline;
4. have a routine;
5. read the book Water Dog;
6. read the book How to be Your Dog's Best Friend, by the Monks of New Skete;
7. lots of exercise for the puppy;
8. always always stop retriever training when the dog is the most excited about it - don't wear the dog down and then stop.
9. don't use food to train a labs or lawyers. They will get fat. Use affection and positive enforcement.

Fixed it for ya'.....

lol...glad to hear doggy was fine...

I agree with the crate train. I know several people in the last 6 months with labs that had great success with the method. The only bizarre one is my nieces'..the dog is like a lamb, all the time, but when you put her in the crate and walk away she goes absolutly ape $hit, curled lips, teeth showing. Walk back up and ask her what's wrong she gots that "I love you look" in her eyess and wags her tail...walk away..same thing...lol
