Recently had the honour of becoming the owner of a 1986 FJ62 - told it was a Sahara, but it has GX badges.... whatever it is, I like it.
Also on gas.
Really nice condition, drives nicely, and fits the family in.

When I can figure out how :whoops: I will sort a Garage bit, but for now....

G'day all!;)

Welcome!

:flipoff2:

Great looking truck!

Must be nice...

Fender flares
High Roof

We get the leftovers here in the states...

Must be nice...

Oh, and I think you have a 60, not a 62(unless you guys get some weird version of a 62 down there)

btw, Welcome!

It was sold to me as a 60, but chassis number starts with FJ62.
Must have been one of the very early ones, as I always thought the 62 had square headlights.

More info will follow later, but thanks for the welcomes.

The fj62 change over was when they went from the 2f to 3f. Of course it's probably different in the states. But in aus it was around 1985. The diesel was a hj60 right up to the end of production regardless of turbo or naturally aspirated.

The high top was an option rather then a model type. The sahara spec came about later with much more luxury items like center console ice box, leather seats and so on. The high roof is sometimes called a sahara top. I think either land rover or nissan came up with that. As nissan also had a hightop on the patrol back in the day.

Oh and you are much better here, then on lcool. They are a bunch of pretentious twits. ;) However you need to adapt. It is 'propane' rather then gas, although technically lpg is a butane/propane mix. unleaded petrol is gas. And honour is spelt honor here ;)

Well it has the 3F, and it drives way nicer than my Dad's FJ60 with the 2F and the old power steering.
More comfy with the buckets in the front too.

Of course you are right about gas - what was I thinking.....
It run gas and LPG as well.

It is still an honour, and will continue to be an honour for me, even if the blokes here can't spell. :p

I like lcool, but they don't seem to like 60s, so......

You obviously know who I am, but I don't remember seeing that username elsewhere. Wanna give me a clue?

Nice to find another "downunderite" so soon. ;)

Howdy from Texas! Welcome to the club!

Nice find

Great looking ride! x2 on the roof, always thought that looked cool especially with the ambulance doors.

Are you planning any mods in the future? Maybe a lift to get through some of the rains you guys have had lately? I have some relatives down in Eltham, VIC they really got nailed with rain around christmas. Maybe just that area though.

This is currently the daily driver for the family so no heavy mods coming.
Was thinking about getting the suspension worked over as I think the rear springs are a bit saggy, but nothing too radical (or expensive).

I am on the other side of the country - over here we have a good bit of rain, but nothing like the east coast. West coast is a way nicer than over there.;)

Mine has the tailgate - horizontal split. I will get some more photos up in time.

It is in great condition - no rust - a few "rust stains" on chips along the back of the doors etc, but that's it. It has been looked after well.
I hope I can continue that.

Thanks for the welcomes.

looks clean and the perfect colour! I am very much jealous of the rust free and fender flares but i love my 2h :)

Welcome to the site. post often!

official MUD welcome salute: :flipoff2:

that roof is sweet, what does it look like on the inside? more pics!

in the USA we drool over all that stuff because it was too fancy for our Govt to allow the import of such nonsense. no diesels here for us either, without importing...
