Gated Shifter Conversion

I was just wondering if anyone has, or if you know how to switch a standard shift lever on my 99 100 series, to the newer gated type. I've never seen it, so I thought I would ask. Thanks

I will guess you will need a new tranny and ECU and hack it into your vehicle. The cheapest and easiest option would be to get a newer cruiser

yours is a 4spd the gated is a 5spd

Well that answers it, I completely forgot the gated is 5 spd. It's been a long day!!

If you are just looking to update the shifter area, some have retrofitted the rectangler chrome trimming around the shifter of the '03+ 100 to an older 100.

You can fit the 5spd shifter in the 4spd LC. BUT... You have to adjust the shift linkage. That means the "L" selector is no longer useable in the 5spd shifter. Your L would be 2. You need to wire your O/D switch in the D position. 4 would actually mean its in 3rd gear.

Then again, you can try and see if the 95+ 4spd Lexus LS400 gated shifter can be fitted. Its been done in a 4spd Cressida that has the similar shift setup as the early 100s.
