You know, poser, you seem to know quite a bit about cruisers and mechanics in general, however you don't seem to have much experince with social behavior. I used to frequent this forum often, but the last time I was on this forum, six months ago, I was getting sick of reading your cocky remarks & down right rudeness to people asking questions. Today I figured I'd try it out again, & there you are, just like before. Do you ever give it a rest?

you're a retard, if you spent anytime on here whatsoever you would know that poser has helped out more people than most on this board, he's a good guy and I am sure is just being sarcastic

tech: I bet it is the cable, they get old and gunky inside and start catching, replace the cable if it is original and then ensure all the moving parts are clean and working correctly and you should be ok.

I had similar experiences with the throttle cable. Did everything from replacing the entire cable housing only to still have a mild sticking problem. I would test the cable by attaching it to the carb and manually operate it with my hands while not attached to the pedal. It worked fine that way! Soon as I attached it to the pedal I would have the issues. Problem is that it's a crazy bend from the carb to my pedal and it was causing a bind. To make a long story longer, I replaced the cable with a brake cable you find at a cycle shop. The bike cable is slightly smaller in diameter and will slide freely in the cable housing. I check it every now and then and the cable shows no wear. Good luck

I've spent too much time on here... If I were to make a comment like that, Poser would delete it... Where's a moderator when you need one.

This is tech let's keep it tech

After looking at the pics, seems the throttle cable is a little rusty and the the insulation is broken in several places. I second the idea on replacing the throttle cable. Or if don't want to replace it, soaking it WD-40 overnight may help clean out the rust but you will have issues later down the road.

I'll try that tonight, we are leaving tomorrow as my wife is in a local adventure race, so the temp will have to work for this weekend, but I'll soak it tonight and I have an extra spring and zip ties already in the truck.
