According to this article they mostly hate kei trucks but it opens the door for them to go after our other registered JDM trucks too. It may actually be influencing them to do so as they target kei trucks.

My instructor at school lives in Georgia and commutes to Opelika. He said they sent him a letter asking him to surrender the title to his Mitsubishi Kei truck, he is also very adamant that will not happen.

He believes that it’s due to SXSs. This started immediately after SXSs and RZRs were deemed legal for road use in GA, Kei trucks are “stealing” the sales of these vehicles.

I wonder if an untitled Kei trucks can travel on county roads with a “slow moving emblem” displayed?

I'm sure this is perfectly safe...smh
Turned left at a busy intersection at Hwy 280.

Policy Bulletin MVD-2023-05
NOTICE TO COUNTY TAG OFFICES
Japanese Kei Vehicles and Minitrucks
The purpose of this bulletin is to notify County Tag Offices of the Department’s policy that prohibits the titling and registering of Japanese kei vehicles, minitrucks and similar vehicles (collectively, Kei Vehicles) in Georgia. Kei Vehicles are imported (primarily from Japan) for use as farming vehicles and off-road recreational vehicles in the United States. Periodically customers attempt to title and register these vehicles. Kei Vehicles are not compliant with U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). Therefore, they are not “street legal.” Kei Vehicles are barred from titling and registration.

Isnt this an issue with a NEW vehicle rather than a JDM that falls under the 25 year rule?

I know, slippery slope and all but....

Thats what I'm thinking. If over 25 years old they should be fine but I dont trust the county tag offices to know to differentiate
