Yeah its just hooking up a couple of wires. Pretty straightforward. What I also meant by brakes is that its better to find a trailer that has brakes on both axles if possible. Def a must on one axle for vehicle towing better on both.

Just because you put 3 transfers in your truck doesn't mean you can put 3 diffs in there.
What? Really??? Well damn! This was gonna put me at 2700:1; I was so excited. :crybaby:

Come to think of it though, I was having a hard time figuring out where to bolt it up. :hillbilly:

actually that's not entirely true. He could run 2 axles in the rear and have 6 wheel drive. For that matter, if'n he REALLY wanted to he could put 2 in the front i suppose. :flipoff2:

Hey guys, I was just watching some of the vids from when Nick and I went wheeling up in north Alabama after D-Day at Chocco last year. A lot of this place is shaded so a summer trip, although still hot, might be more pleasant than some places. Let's get an overnighter planned. LOTS of places to explore and trails are doable in any vehicle (bypasses for most of the bigger stuff). No formal camping areas, just have to find a place in the woods.

I might be down depending on the date. Any way the 4Runner could go through there? Obviously not the part in the vid...

Yes, I think most of it could be done in a stock truck (sliders still recommended though). The video was waaaay deep into the place and about a 1/2 mile up a dry creek bed. I'll try to edit and upload the second video later this week if I can; It shows Nick following me up an average rocky section of trail. I can't decide whether you'd have more fun in the mini or the Runner though. The Runner would be much more challenging but might get scraped up a lot underneath; The mini would be overkill for a lot of it but would allow you to hit the harder stuff when available. (You need a really low, aluminum trailer so you can tow the mini with the 4Runner)

This place is about 45-60 minutes SW of Skyline so maybe Skyline is an option too. Camping situation is much better there but the wheeling area is much smaller.

Got a good reference as to where it is? Sounds like a good time, and the :princess: has said she'd like to do more camping this year. And besides after all the work for GSMTR I might as well use the d@mn thing more.

This place is great, it was one of the best days wheeling that I have done around here. We got to the trailhead at around 9 am and we wheeled till about 4 and only stopped for about 30 min for lunch.

It is in the town of Gurley, AL, which is on HWY 72 almost halfway between Huntsville and Scottsboro.

Cool, looks about 2 hours due south, so would be a good weekend trip. I will keep an eye over here to see if you guys get something together.

Looks like Steve is right as usual. Def would be more fun in the mini. It's a bit far for a day trip for us. I could leave super early on Saturday and meet you guys there and camp Saturday night. Assuming that's what you guys are planning on doing. I'm def interested as long as I can work it out with my schedule.
