I know they won't fit on my FJ60, but will a set of '93 -'97 FZJ80 wheel fit on an '85 4Runner? I'm guessing the backspacing won't work but I'm not sure.

I don't know about that year runner, but I had Gen III guys asking me about selling my 80 rims to them, apparently they are desirable to them because they are wider the 4 runner rims.

I would sell on 4runner forum or on ebay.

Yes is will.

The backspacing are the same and the bolt pattern are the same.

If you want to install it on IFS vehicle then the backspacing are not correct and would make it stick out too much.

The cruiser wheels have about an inch too much backspace to work on the front. A 15" wheel with anything over 3.5" backspacing hits the tie rod ends. Even at 3.5" you run into interference with wheel weights mounted on the inside. I don't think that the 16" wheel would make much difference in this. The wheels would work fine on an IFS minitruck or 4Runner; all the extra width is on the outside.

I have a '95 FZJ and an '85 minitruck in my driveway. If you really need to know if this works post back or PM me and I can give it a try.

WRONG WRONG WRONG!

85 4Runners have 3.5" stock 15x6" backspaced wheels (same as a 60 series) with a solid front axle. FJ80 15x7s and FZJ80 16x8s will not fit a solid axle 4Runner, Pickup, 40 series, 60 series, 52, 55, 45, etc... without about 1" spacers to push them out on all 4 wheels. Not only the tie rods are an issue but they will rub against the frame in the rear when articulated. 80 series wheels are 4.25-4.5" backspaced depending upon who you talk to, and personally I think it might be both 4.25 for 91/92s and 4.5 for 93-97. I've never personally measured them. They will fit post 85 (86 and newer 4 Runners and pickups). They would be a good upgrade for those vehicles as most came with 15x7 or 16x7 wheels. They are the correct bolt pattern 6 on 5.5 until the introduction of the 100 series.

Eric, thanks for clearing that up.
