Broke a front wheel stud on Sunday. Toyota Dealer today gave me Part No. 90942-02082 for the front studs. I have read that this has replaced the old Part No. 90942-02049. Does anyone have any experience with these new studs? Or should I request the old one?
Which model/year are you working on (used to be different numbers but now looks like the fronts all superceded to the -02082 in the US).
Could you post up a photo of the broken stud (both parts, removed from the hub)?

Go to www.partsouq.com and look up the parts for your truck with your VIN. It will give you the proper number and when you select it it may give you the current number.
Otherwise, then take that number and go to Ourisman Toyota and plug in the number from Partsouq and it will give you the current superseded part number.
Could you post up a photo of the broken front stud bolt once you get it out of the hub and compare it side-by-side to the new bolt?
Reason I ask is when I replaced my rear hub studs the "correct" replacement (superceded) part was slightly different ie: the splined section was shorter than the originals.
So I looked around and found another Toyota rear stud bolt that had similar dimensions as the original (but not the "correct" superceded part by the book).
If I can find my old photos and part numbers I'll post them up here.
There appears also to be a slight difference in the length of the splines and the angle of the shoulder.
I'll try to find my photos of the rear studs and compare them to the replacements and post them up.
IIRC there was a bit more of a difference between the original rear studs and their replacements
