Hey all,

After much discussion and finally taking the :princess: around to test drive some 80's, I'm in the market for one!!

I had found a Black LX450 in Tacoma with factory lockers that I thought was the one but found a few gremlins that I wasn't too joyed about paying for, so after some heart wrenching reality I decided not to pull the trigger on it.

Which means...

I'm still looking for an 80 with lockers. Maintenance, lift, sliders/bumpers are all up there on the "deal maker" list.

Within reasonable driving distance for the :princess: to come pick it up.
I would really prefer WA state, honestly, as I will most likely not be present for the actual transaction.

We spend every weekend we can camping and wheeling, so I'm definitely looking for something tastefully built to handle wheeling and expo style stuff while keeping us safe and comfortable at the same time. I'm a sucker for the Lexus, but as I've said above as long as she's got it where it counts I might be interested.

I've already PM'd a few people about what's up on the classifieds right now, but let's see what else falls out of the woodwork!!

Trying to stay under 10k, which means the less lifted/locked/armored a rig is, the farther under 10k I'd like to be!

Thanks all!

Good luck, very slim pickings in WA state for clean 80's. I looked for months and gave up and bought a 100 to replace my totaled 80. Not to say they are not out there, it's all a matter of time.

Sounds like you are deployed overseas right now? If you need someone local to check out perspective 80's you are interested in I will be more then happy to assist. I've owned a 80 and spent 8 months looking at dozens of them over the past 2 years. I know what to look for in a good one.

Drop me a PM if you need any help.

There was a cherry looking '97 with 140k that just sold in Yakima. I contacted them but was too late...

You are welcome to have mine inspected anytime at the local Toyota dlr.
I cannot think of anything wrong with it and the previous, single owner was a Master Toyota Tech.
Fully locked and what I believe to be well above average condition with maybe one door ding (very minor) on the entire vehicle.
I'd possibley go $9500. I doubt you will find a cleaner one.
Good luck and thanks for what you do for our country.
Oh yeah, we could also bring it to the Tacoma area with no problem (assuming a purchase was pending).

Yours does look like it's in great condition Rozzi, we're definitely talking it over. I'll PM you about setting something up once we're back in town!

These things are flying off CL faster than I can e-mail!!

:(

Still on the lookout, have sent out a few PM's but not getting any responses.

Got something local but I'm on the fence!

Little weekly bump.

Just a little one.

:beer::beer::beer:

Still on the lookout, I'm expanding my search to encompass a first or second year hundy (rear locker) at a reasonable price, stock or very light modifications preferred

If anyone knows a guy that knows a guy, let em know

National "Let's get Mike a Land Cruiser" day!!!

I know it's going to be hard, but I think we can do it. Let's make this young man's dream come true. I would hate to see him in a Land Rover or a Jeep! Let's make it happen.

I had one recently posted for sale. I, too, am in WA. Mine sold over the weekend. The OP, Yohavos, was quick to make offers based upon NADA, KBB, Edmunds without even seeing my vehicle. If you are serious about purchasing a vehicle, I believe it's important to see it, evaluate it, and present an offer in person. It was a lowball offer that I took as insulting (considering we live less than 2 hours apart and you never saw it in person). I understand you may be overseas, but I would have been happy taking it to a mechanic and arranging an inspection. Anyways, good luck.
Mine went to a good home and the new owner was great to work with.

Congratulations on the sale. I'm sure it went to a good home. I'll let Mike know he's an idiot for serving his country in combat, and for not meeting you in person to present you a "reasonable" offer. WOW!!!

That's the reason for independent inspections. I am sure several folks would agree that other members would have no problem inspecting cars and providing feedback on cars for sale in locations inconvenient for prospective buyers. I know I would do it in a heartbeat for another member.
Nice job, Discovery XD, on the sale of the LR. GL looking for the 1996-1997.
