FZJ80 Alternator replaced, now won't start. What did I screw up?

I replaced my alternator yesterday with a refurb OEM unit for my 94 FZJ80, but screwed something up.

Seemed to go all according to the FSM procedure, wiring correct, belt tension by hand measure to 90 degree twist, but when I go to start the truck it cranks but doesn't turn over and run. All the dash light come on, but not the check engine light on turning the key.

Battery is good. Looked up threads on here, all talking about EFI relay and Fusible Links. My fusible links look rough but not broken or melted. Could I have unplugged or broken a connection closer to the alternator getting old one out or new one in? Don't have a spare EFI relay but can grab one at Oreilly's today, but my EFI relay looks fine at least to the eye.

Anyone have this same thing happen replacing the alternator and know what it could be?

Yep. Ran through diagnostics, fusible links checked out, voltage was good. Went and bought a replacement EFI fuse, replaced it and it started right up. Old one worked yesterday before replacing the alternator, but must have blown it somehow.

Thread closed. SMH.

since you don't mention un-hooking the battery Cable as step #1 , i can assume you did not , hence you got very very lucky it was ONLY a fuse .

Check all connections that were undone including any grounds you disconnected. Consider replacing the fusible link bundle

Wait for electrical gurus to chime in

I disconnected everything starting with battery and pulled it and the tray when replacing the alternator of course, following the manual, and reconnected everything and checked grounds before putting the battery back. Do you mean when testing connections on wiring in troubleshooting?

It's running after replacing the EFI relay thankfully. I ordered a spare fusible link to have on hand if that goes in the future. Not sure where in the electrical process or reattaching the battery I would have blown the EFI relay.
