My Fzj 80 has had a new fuel pressure regulator fitted, however it will only idle, when I try to use throttle it will splutter and stall. I have found a fuel leak dripping down from the rear of the fuel inlet to the regulator, could this be the source of my issue.?

I believe the rubber hose from the FPS has a small leak as when it was idling I couldn’t LD see drips of fuel using my mirror from that area.
I can’t get to it because of my health issues, but I am not a complete goose which some advisors think I am. I think when the fitted the new FPS they either pinched it or did not connect it properly.
Hope this explains a bit.

Did they fit the O-ring with the new FPR (9030109002). I'm pretty sure the FPR assembly doesn't include one.

As I understand it on the fuel injected 1FZ-FE the inlet to the FPR is where it is bolted to the fuel rail, the larger of the lines clamped to the nipple is the fuel return line where excess fuel is returned to the tank, and the small line slipped over a small nipple is a vaccum line from the VSV for fuel pressure.

I don't think you should have any fuel
leaking from the return line. It is possible that the rubber line wasn't installed far enough onto the nipple, the short section of fuel hose could be damaged, or the person doing the work put the wrong kind of hose there.

I wouldn't drive it with a fuel leak.

I had bad luck with an aftermarket FPR (was in a time crunch) that was resolved when I put on a Toyota FPR a couple of days later. If it isn't a factory part, you might try to swap in an original part.
