I got to threading all the wires and decided to Mount the Fuse block in the rear comparment in the trunk on the drivers side. Is this an o.k. place to mount it regarding the gas tank? I saw some type of black flexible tube in this compartment and was wondering if it was the gas tank vent or maybe a roof drain? Also on a side note what is the clear tube running by the drivers foot rest?

The black hose is one of the sunroof drains. The clear hose is for rear washer.

A few things to consider when mounting the fuse block in this location - first, you will need to run fairly heavy guage wire to power the block given the length of the run. Second, you will likely have to fuse the block itself right at the battery to prevent a short downstream which could burn you truck down.

The guage of the wiring and fuse for the block will depend on what you are running off of the fuse block.

Cheers, Hugh

Thanks for the tips Hugh--I ran 2 gauge back there and I have a circuit breaker at the battery end. It is just stuff such as a 200 watt amp, cb, occasional use of a 400 watt inverter, maybe another 12v outlet, back up lights, etc. I would imagine I could jump the car from back there in an emergency.....

As Hugh said, it should be fine. There was some talk about what the black and clear hoses are, but I think in the end, it was determined that none of the hoses were vents from the gas tank.

I have a small fuse block on the opposite side -- it's been there for about a year and a half now and have had not problems at all.
