Oh bummer. I just purchased a 1996 LX450 and will be picking it up this Sunday. I saw this thread a while back when I was searching for the right truck and decided to hold off. I hope this gets revived in the future.

Great job Nate - I'm thrilled with the downloads I got for a mere $10.

Out of curiosity, how do I purchase the printed FSM for my '96 FZJ80?

Do I just call up my dealer (or better yet, CDan) or is there an online ordering option?

What damage should I expect?

I looked through some of the TIS stuff... it looks feasible to accomplish. I'm going to weigh my options and see if it is worth resuming this; if so, expect work to begin re-writing the spider program in August, with finished downloadable packages in Sept.

awesome. i will be all over it faster this time!

if anyone has a copy of a 1996 landcruiser FSM, mind sending it my way? thanks in advance :)

Not sure if you are kidding or not, as having someone send you a copy of the FSM would be a generous gift. My FSM cost approximately $110, sent to me via priority mail.

Cut and pasted some info for you:

Printed copies of all Toyota, Scion, and Lexus service support information can be purchased directly from the Toyota Materials Distribution Center or MDC. The MDC stocks printed versions of most Toyota service information products, including legacy model information that is not available on this site.

Note: Certain inventory items are produced in limited quantities and may not be reprinted or reissued once initial inventory is depleted.
MDC telephone operators accept Visa and MasterCard credit card orders, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time.

To place orders please call 1-800-622-2033.

Kona Joe,
Have you read *any* of the prior 388 posts in this thread?

Dammit. Looks like I'm a day late and a dollar short on this freaking thread... So the "easy " way to download is gone for now, but we can still do it the three or four hour manual way I guess.

Natorgator--or anyone--going to be able to fix this anytime soon, or will it be a while before you can get to it...?

I did read this post, but I didn't actually read it correctly... I thought it said it would be finished in August. Man, being away from this site so long seems to have affected my ability to read posts correctly or something... LOL

Not all, as I got the point after a few posts. NaterGater has assisted countless Mudder's in obtaining the FSM in electronic format. However, with recent changes at Toyota, the electronic version is temp. unavailable. As such, until the NaterGater can figure it all out, some folks were inquiring about the printed version of the FSM.

Did you read 382, 383 and 384 and 389?

Was simply trying to make things easy for them in obtaining the printed copy. :flipoff2:

Read all the posts Joe.

The TIS site is working quite well. The TIS site is the source for the electronic versions of the manuals. The only issue is that they changed the structure of their web site (it is Toyota's web site after all.)

Nate's custom programs make it effortless for us lazy 'Mudders to DL all the sections of a manual. His programs are elegantly written and are non-trivial. These programs don't work (at this time) with the new structure but that doesn't mean you or anyone else can't DL the sections or read them on-line if you want to. Downloading all the sections for a 1997 80-Series took me about 3 or 4 hours and there are other threads that describe ways to make that easier.

Beowulf, given what you've posted, I don't think you're clear on what assistance I was trying to provide. I'll end by saying I hope the information I posted was of value to the original poster. If not, oops! What's the bail? That is all. Respectfully, Joe
