So i have the blueish/grey OEM interior in my 62 that's pretty rough and a clean brown interior in both my parts rigs. I know most everything is strait forward as far as the door panels, seats ect. My main concern is the dash and the metal framework underneath the dash that color matches to the interior. How much of a P.I.T.A. is it to swap out? I figure i might want to go ahead and do the heater core while I'm in there depending on how deep i need to go.

It's not that difficult, just tedious. Take your time and note where everything goes as parts are removed. It helps to tag/label things, especially hardware and any electrical connectors you have to disconnect. Make sure to take a lot of photos along the way. Once you get the dash components out of the way, the heater assembly and core are easy to get to.

I've just about finished a complete swap of the dash from my donor '89 FJ62 into my '86 FJ60 project vehicle. I'm also swapping most everything else over from the FJ62's interior, including the rear heater, complete wiring harness, power mirrors/windows/door locks, etc., but not the headliner. Plus brand new carpet from Trail Tailor. While at it I'm installing an older Pioneer AM/FM/cassette player along with a new Pioneer amp, Pioneer speakers in the front doors, and MB Quart speakers in the rear cargo area. I'm also upgrading the power window and door locks circuits with relays. So far so good, just waiting for the weather to warm back up a little and the snow to stop flying.

defiantly doable, might be easier to fix what you have in there now. unless you want the brown
I just did a full body restoration with a color change and the brown would go much better with the new color. Plus i have all the parts.

took me about two hours to pull my whole interior except the dash. i've pulled the dash at a seoerate time. not too hard just tedious as others have said

I say go for it, post some picks and let's see. What condition is your grey dash pad in ? I need one
Its shot. Only one of the reasons for my interior swap.
