Can I install a 3rd member from a 60 series semi float axle into a full float axle?

My understanding is that a full float axle doesnt have a removable cover for the differential, so you can't install the c-clips require for semi float.

So if I buy an entire full float axle, will the semi float diff I own just swap in?

Yes you can. You don’t need the c-clips with the full float.

Yes , i transfert a semi float third with ARB Locker into a full floater.Never had a issue.Even transferred all the brakes and backingplates.

Same as above. I am running a '88 FJ62 rear diff in a '97 FZJ80 FF axle.

Yep yep yep. Works fine my third after being rebuilt was out of a Semi-Floating axle and now in my FF. You do not use the cross pin or the bolt that holds it in place.
I hate C-clipped axles so if you can, swap them out.

What the hell? You would have zero drive. The cross pin is what keeps the spider gears in place inside the carrier.

Whoops that was a mistake.

What I meant to say was the spacer is no longer need.
