Fuel tank woes

ahhhh Ok that makes sense - I'll look at the ground wires and makes sure that everything's connected - after wrestling with this thing all day yesterday i don't especially feel like crawling under the truck again, but these seem to be logical.

Question: I saw the wires that connected to the pump and sender - they are bundled together and have the two connectors on them. I'm not sure I saw that ground wire at all. But I'll look for it and I'm going to look in the FSM today.
 
OK, at least my cruiser is back on the road!

After looking at the various connectors, I checked the main fuel pump connection in the rear fender well; As it turns out, the connector was corroded, and in fact one of the wires had completely disconnected itself from the connector.

So i did a quickie repair - using a wire nut - and low and behold, the beast fired right up. So in the end, while it's I didn't NEED to replace the fuel pump and bracket (although the hard line was going and pump was whining) I'm glad I did.

So, check those connectors!

Thanks! After getting a buddy of mine to solder the wire, the beast is back up and running well. I'm going to do a few small trips before I get ambitious and drive it the 35 mile round trip to work and back.

It now stands that the 62 is back on the road.
