As I will be having the injectors out for testing, should I replace the fuel pressure regulator?

And don't fool with all those gaskets. Either reuse whatever is there or, better yet, pitch them in the spare parts bin.

No, but if it makes you feel better, buy a (relatively) inexpensive fuel pressure test kit and check it out. You can find one for about $45. I expect the pressure is just fine.

You do need to replace the filter if you haven't done so recently.

Does the fuel pressure reg. wear with milage? I have 250,000 mi.
Or is it one thing we don't have to worry about?

not sure on the 1fze but the guys on the 3FE list swear by changing them out. little different beast though.

I'd also like to know if the fuel pressure reg wears with mileage? Is it an all or nothing part? If not and it wears slowly is there any PM associated with it working right or working longer? Any definitive test to see if, or how well, its working? Thanks.

How would one know it the pressure reg was bad other than checking it with a guage?

you will know it was bad if you replace it with a new one and the truck runs better :D

We did replace the FPR on my brother's 91 and it did run better afterwards so I rest my case.

Seriously, if you are going to the trouble of servicing your injectors I would replace the FPR for sure as PM.

Who had the tiny Summit fuel pressure guage mounted under the hood Cary,Photoman,...???

I like the idea of the little guage working all the time so "the wife" could check it every day.

Yep...two of my non LC rolling stock have had this or similar on for ~15 years now.
